Easy Peach Cobbler with Cake Mix

  4.3 – 279 reviews  • Peach Dessert Recipes

Despite being so straightforward, this cake-mix-based fresh peach cobbler is a hit. It’s an efficient but respectable cobbler.

Prep Time: 20 mins
Cook Time: 45 mins
Total Time: 1 hr 5 mins
Servings: 12
Yield: 1 9×13-inch cobbler

Ingredients

  1. 12 fresh peaches, pitted and sliced
  2. 1 cup water
  3. 1 cup white sugar
  4. ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  5. 1 (15.25 ounce) package white cake mix
  6. 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, cut into pats
  7. ½ cup unsalted butter, cut into pieces

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Spread peach slices evenly in the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish. Stir water and sugar together in a small bowl until dissolved; pour mixture over peaches. Sprinkle cinnamon over peaches, then cake mix. Top cake mix with pats of cream cheese, then butter.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven until golden, about 45 minutes.
  4. You can use two 32-ounce cans of peaches in syrup in place of fresh peaches. If doing this, omit the water and sugar mixture in Step 2 and just use 1 cup of the peach syrup instead.
  5. You can substitute a yellow cake mix for the white if desired.

This peach cobbler was amazing! My son & I have to watch our sugar so I used a sugar free cake mix & no sugar added peaches in a can.( I didn’t have fresh on hand.) I also decided to add no sugar added pears. I didn’t have the big cans of fruit, so I used 2 cans of 0 sugar peaches & 0 sugar pears. When it came to using cream cheese, I only had the whipped kind in the tub. I used half of the tub. I did follow the directions by putting dollop on top of the cake mix & it did just fine. I also added a half of nutmeg with the cinnamon. This was so good! I will definitely be using this recipe for holidays. Thank you for sharing your recipe

Very easy to make! Everyone loved it!!

I just used the can peaches with juice and was enough and make small pieces of cream cheese and then melted butter. I did spray my glass pan with coconut spray. I am watching it cook now. Looks yummy.

I made this using the tips offered in the reviews. It was very tasty and my family loved it! I cut the cream cheese into the cake mix, used the juice from the canned peaches, and melted the butter. It was quick, easy, and yummy! I will be making this again.

This turned out great. My cans were 29 oz so I added another small can. The cake mix cream cheese and butter came out like frosting but it cooked perfectly. Thanks for the recipe

Was yummy. Especially the bites that had the cream cheese. However, next time I’ll make it without the sugar. Cake mix has plenty of sugar already. I used fresh peaches so if you use canned that have sugar you might want to consider eliminating the sugar as well.

Came out really great

No, I did it exactly how it says to do it. Is awesome!

Very disappointed, I had to cook it an extra 10 minutes just to get a golden and it still doesn’t taste like it should. Parts of the cake didn’t blend in and cook.

I think I did something wrong. I used fresh peaches,so I mixed the water and sugar together but it came out to watery, and I didn’t have the block cream cheese so I used whipped so next time I’ll do it a little differently.

Terrible. The water is way to much. The cake mix does not cook. Wasted all those peaches. I just now drained the water out after 45min. Mixed it all together and hopefully baking a little longer it will be eatable. Big FLOP

I’ve made this a couple times before but read how someone had mixed the cake mix and cream cheese together and then melted the butter. I did that this time and it was so much easier and it looks amazing. I had to use a little whipped cream cheese so a little heavier than it should be, but yum!!!

this was good because I read the reviews and used a pastry blender I mix the cream cheese and cake mix then melted the butter and drizzled on top. maybe it would have been better to mix them at the same time because I ended up with a dry patch. I think next time I will try that. it is a bit too sweet so I will use only 1/2 cup sugar with my water. I used brown sugar because it was handy

Easy peasy. Taste wonderful.

I didn’t like how this turned out. It just isn’t very flavorful. I used fresh peaches and cut the cream cheese and butter into the cake mix as was suggested. I won’t make this again.

Minor changes and clarification of instructions: -drained canned peaches in bottom (*Doubled the Peaches -two 29oz. Cans- one heavy syrup/ one in juice, Drain peaches- keep juice). -Pour 1 cup of peach juice over peaches. -sprinkle cinnamon over peaches – pour cake/Cream cheese mixture (*Blend cake mix with room temperature cream cheese). – pour butter on top of cream cheese/cake mixture. -Bake *Used Dunkin Hines Butter Cake in box.

I made this with a commenters revisions. I used 2 large can of sliced peaches, and one cup of the juice. I cut the cream cheese in with the cake mix, and melted the butter. Awesome, simple recipe!

I didn’t have cream cheese so I added 2 tablespoon of sugar to sour cream and used it. My peaches were frozen. I didn’t add the water, just scattered the cake mix, spread the sour cream, and dotted with the butter. I made it half size and used a Jiffy cake mix as they are only 9 ozs. It turned out great and I really went to a lot less trouble than the rest of you.

It was very good, did not like the cream cheese. Will make it again without the cream cheese.
