Ingredients
- 1 cup white sugar
- ½ cup butter, room temperature
- 1 cup self-rising flour
- 1 cup milk
- 1 (15 ounce) can sliced peaches, with juice
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- Beat sugar and butter together in a 1-quart baking dish. Mix in flour and milk until smooth. Pour peaches and juice over top.
- Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown, 25 to 30 minutes.

I love this recipe and it is the very first dessert I learned to make when I was 8 years old. However, I was taught to make it with 1 can of peach pie filling instead of just canned peaches. The pie filling isn’t as wet as canned peaches would be and tastes so much better.
Terrible, not the right consistency, it was a bread like texture, def need more peaches. Bottom line it was so embarrassing that I made this dessert to bring to someone’s house and it was not good at all. And I had to cook it like an extra 20-30 min or it would have been complete mush
I am 51 years old. Although I grew up in New Orleans, my grandparents were from the country in Mississippi. My grandmother and mother have been making this exact recipe my entire life. I acquired the recipe when I moved out as as adult. We cook it at 375 for 35-40 minutes.
This is a delicious desert that was greatly enjoyed by family, new neighbors, and new Momma and Daddy. There are a couple modifications that were required. It took longer and a hotter oven is needed. I set to 400 degrees on convection and baked for 40 minutes to achieve a lovely appearing golden crust. I used 1/2 the liquid from the peaches and to the liquid I stirred in cinnamon to our taste (about 2 tsp). Each time I gift a cooked dish to someone, I include the recipe and recommend Allrecipes as well.
i followed exactly as the recipe stated, but the crust was not firm looking or that of cobber. Looked not done. I cooked it additional 20 minutes, the consistency just did not seem right for a cobbler. 🙁

The only thing I had to change about this recipe is that I had to cook it for a little over an hour. It is really really delicious. Mixing the butter and sugar makes a terrible mess, but the end result is worth it.

I followed the recipe, knowing it was lacking in flavor so I added 1 1/2 Tsp. Cinnamon and bit of Nutmeg, and upped the baking time to 1 Hr. Turned out delicious. Let cool for 15 minutes add Ice Cream and you have a winner.
I followed the video attached for the recipe, even used the exact same glass pan, which is eight or nine inches. This would have been much better put in a larger pan. Other recipes very similar to this one do call for a 9 x 11 pan. It would have cooked better and been done at the designated time if put in a larger pan. As it was I had to cook it a lot longer and it was “doughier” than when I made peach cobbler before. Next time I’ll make this using a larger pan.

I use frozen peaches so I added sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg to taste. Turned out wonderful
The dough took an extra 15 minutes and was still a bit soft. The dough needs spices for flavor.

I made this according the recipe. It was delicious and easy. I am a huge fan of peach cobbler and I was a bit scared to try to make it without a cake mix. Simple. Easy. Straight forward. My favorite kind of recipe.
I made it in a 9×9 with 1 15 oz can of peaches. I think maybe 2 cans with only one with juice would be better but overall very good!

This was barely edible. The texture was so strange-like chewy gelatin. I followed the recipe exactly, so I’m not sure what went wrong. I will not be making this again.
