Easy Butter Cookies I

  3.7 – 30 reviews

I am a Southern California native. These spicy Mexican carrots are available in every restaurant. Since I am currently on the East Coast, I have had to create my own recipe to replicate the hot carrots from my native country.

Servings: 36
Yield: 3 dozen

Ingredients

  1. 1 ½ cups sifted all-purpose flour
  2. ½ cup cornstarch
  3. ½ cup white sugar
  4. 1 cup unsalted butter, softened

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets.
  2. Mix together all ingredients until well-blended.
  3. Roll 2-inch sized pieces of dough into balls and place on cookie sheet. Flatten each with the back of a fork.
  4. Bake 13 to 15 minutes until light brown. Let cool on wire rack.

Tasty, but I added a little milk and 1tsp of baking powder. I’m glad I did, as they would have been flat and dry otherwise.

I thought they turned out great for an easy, 4 ingredients recipe. You just need to made sure that the ingredients are well blended. It takes a while to completely cream the butter with the dries.

Terrible!! Don’t waste your time. Very bland. Made two batches to be sure, and they were both bad!

For this recipe, I added 1 1/4 cups of butter, and added another half cup of flour and sugar. They came out nice, and the dough was delish.??I gave this recipe 4 stars because I added to it, but all in all, it was a great recipe to follow. Also, instead of using white sugar, I mixed brown sugar and cinnamon, and they had more flavor.

Made it, but had to tweak it. The instructions made it very crumbly and low on taste. I added a half teaspoon of vanilla, and baked it for an extra 3-5 minutes, and it came out much better. Not as crumbly, and a little better tasting. Maybe next time I’ll add a whole teaspoon of vanilla, and see what happens.

I didn’t have enough butter and used little but if peanut butter. I love almonds, so I added crushed one. Its really Powderly,so its very difficult to make it round and put it on tray. My arm muscle is exhausted. Besides that, I made 45 small cookies, all taste great, Powderly cookie is actually my favorite now. I love that ingredients are so simple when you have nothing in your kitchen.

My whole family loved it and it was super easy to make for someone like me who doesn’t bake much! I put my own twist on it and added about a tablespoon of vanilla

I added two tablespoons of orange juice and after they where done, covered with orange zest, powdered sugar frosting

I loved these cookies! I did add a bit of vanilla and sprinkled a tad of sugar on top. They were just the right amount of sweetness for me and made a great evening snack for the family!

I don’t understand the bad reviews, these cookies are delicious and very simple to make! Very light and buttery. But be careful not to overbake them or they will fall apart.

After reading other reviews I did add 1 egg and 1 tsp of vanilla. I baked them on center rack for 13 minutes. They came out great, will make again! Thanks for the other reviewers.

This tasted good, but this dough just falls apart!

Light, fluffy, buttery and delicious. These were terrific cookies, easy to make and great tasting. I used salted butter and an electric mixer. I rolled the balls in sugar before I flattened them with a fork. I also lowered the temp to 350.

I love this recipe yes it is a little crumbly but i just rolled it into balls and it came out AWESOME it isn’t as sweet as most cookies (and thats how i like it)but its still good and its really easy and very quick at the most i could take 25 min to make and cook them

After reading all the reviews, I was a bit skeptical about trying this recipe, but I did anyways because this recipe had all the ingredients that were left in my pantry. I altered it a bit by adding an extra 1/4 cup of sugar, a teaspoon of ground cinnamon, and an egg. They came out perfect! My niece did pour sprinkles on a couple of the cookies, however, even the plain ones turned out great. Keep in mind, these are butter cookies. So don’t expect a moist flavorful cookie. These are more light and savory.

Very yummy, just came out of the oven and are exactly what I was looking to make. Batter was a little flowery for my taste, but I added maple extract and that took care of it. (Was out of almond and will try it next time.) Very good and would definitely recommend.

These cookies turned out great! Very buttery and yummy. I put raspberry jam in the middle before baking. I used all real butter and didn’t have a problem with crumbling.

Quick and easy cookies that the whole family loves! I added about a teaspoon of vanilla and a chocolate chip on top and the kids beg me for them.
