Crescent Roll Apple Turnovers

  3.0 – 1 reviews  • Apple Dessert Recipes

The crescent roll dough used to make these apple turnovers tastes great both warm and cold. To make this sumptuous dessert appear as though you went to a lot of bother when you didn’t, they are covered in caramel sauce. They might come with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.

Servings: 8
Yield: 8 turnovers

Ingredients

  1. 6 medium apples – peeled, cored, and diced small
  2. ¼ cup dark brown sugar
  3. ¼ cup water
  4. ¼ cup cold salted butter, cut into small pieces
  5. 6 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  6. 3 tablespoons white sugar
  7. 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  8. 1 (8 ounce) package refrigerated crescent rolls
  9. 2 tablespoons caramel sauce, or to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Combine apples, brown sugar, water, butter, flour, sugar, and cinnamon in a bowl; mix to combine.
  3. Unroll crescent dough and separate into 8 triangles. Scoop 1 tablespoon apple mixture into center of each triangle and fold into a package, making sure ends are sealed. Transfer to the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown, 15 to 18 minutes. Remove from the oven and allow to cool for 10 minutes.
  5. Serve with a drizzle of caramel sauce on each turnover.
  6. You can make this with peaches or bananas instead of apples.

Did you people not test this recipe?!? 6 medium apples is WAY too many for 8 measly crescent rolls. They tasted great but I have NO idea what we will do with the rest of the apples.
