Reviews
I agree with the other comments about too much cocoa powder but I added orange extract to help balance the intense chocolate flavor. Turned out tasting like a Terry’s chocolate orange and will probably make it again
Used maple syrup instead of sugar and added a little coconut oil to help mask the “green” flavor. Melted dark chocolate and poured over and let it harden. Added a raspberry as a topper. Delish.
the negative reviews are probably from ripe avocados. Mine were pre-ripe but soft enough to handle and were tasteless in the recipe. I used 2 T stevia instead of sugar, dark chocolate powder and it was awesome!
My wife and I decided we won’t make any other kind of chocolate pudding. It is amazing! Also is great way to get omegas down our kids that refuse avocados because of the texture. After reading through some of the reviews it is obvious you need to be very careful about the ripeness of the avocados you use. An underripe or hard avocado will produce a grainy texture and funny taste. Ripe avocados (just gives slightly when squeezed) come out smooth with only a slight avocado flavor. We also used a higher quality coconut milk that we save to make curry with, that could also affect the end flavor because the milk is not super sweet but has a pleasant coconut flavor and mild smell. It also solidifies quickly and smoothly when chilled which would help the texture and how well this pudding sets up when refrigerated. Definitely needs to be well blended, but when done, it is perfection! The serving size seems a bit off too. Says it makes 4 servings. We found it to be so rich and satisfying that we figured it to be closer to 6 or 8 serving per batch if you can manage to stay out of it!
Incredible! Tasted like rich dark chocolate pudding. Will make again every time I have extra avocados getting too ripe. I increased vanilla and added almond extract and left out the cinnamon. I will have to try the cinnamon version one of these days. .
I only had about 1/2 an avacado so I made a much reduced recipe. I blended it for a long time and it was super smooth.
OMG!! THIS IS SO FREAKING GOOD I AM EATING IT RIGHT NOW!! YOU HAVE GOT TO TRY THIS THE T ASTE IS AMAZING!!!I STRAINED IT IN AN ICING STRAINER TO MAKE IT SMOOTHER
nice. its delicious
We loved it! I doubled the recipe and found it needed an entire can of coconut milk. I would really like to sub the sugar for dates or something..any recommendations?
Skipped the cinnamon because I wasn’t in the mood for it but will make again with it. Loved it! It’s so creamy and rich and the amounts of avocado and cocoa are perfect. I wouldn’t change a thing.
I did not like this. When I first tasted it, it liked it but then the aftertaste was not pleasant. I even tried adding more sugar but in the end I put it in the compost bin. Sorry..
Not great.
This is the best chocolate pudding ever! So quick and easy. Very creamy texture.
I thought this was great. No avocado taste. Great consistency. Will be making again.
I add coconut oil 2 teaspoon
I don’t understand the negative reviews. made it as written EXCEPT (don’t you love it when reviewers say that?) I omitted the cinnamon because I don’t like it. this was delicious!
I don’t like avacados, alone, but you can’t tell there in this pudding. I didn’t have brown sugar ,I used dark brown, and I used almond milk. Best pudding ever
No changes – silky and smooth pudding. Definitely needs to rest in the fridge to chill and mellow out the flavors, but is a super fast and healthy way to get your chocolate fix!
Delicious. A wee bit thick, so maybe a little more milk next time.
I was confused by the 2 large avocados, we live in Florida and have Florida avocados and they are large. But does everybody have these available yo them
I used to make this recipe for my family all the time but haven’t done it in a while. Decided to revisit it today and it was scrumptious as usual.
