Caramelized Nectarine

Make nectarine halves with this quick, simple recipe. They have terrific flavor and are also great for entertaining. Put the yogurt in a basin for dipping, dice the vegetables, and then arrange them on toothpicks.

Ingredients

  1. 1 nectarine
  2. 2 tablespoons white sugar
  3. 2 tablespoons plain yogurt

Instructions

  1. Cut nectarine in half all the way around the pit. Twist open and discard the pit. Sprinkle sugar on the cut side of each nectarine half.
  2. Place nectarine halves, cut-side down, onto a griddle or into a skillet over medium heat; cook for 1 1/2 minutes. Transfer nectarines to a plate, cut-side up, and top each with plain yogurt.

This was really a different and fun way to have a healthy dessert. I didn’t use as much sugar as called for and I did dust with a little cinnamon. I used greek yogurt so it would hod up and not be so runny.

Simply and straight forward and down right delicious. I do think vanilla yogurt would have paired nicely with the nectarine without overpowering and I plan to try that next time.
