Baked Apple Slices

This recipe for shrimp curry is a delicate yet flavorful curry that goes nicely with prawns. It has a great flavor and is a really simple dinner to make when you’re in a rush. Before placing the shrimp in the skillet, make sure the tails are cut off. Combine with rice.

I think this recipe is missing some steps or something else critical. I followed it exactly, only tripling the amounts because I had three apples. The cooking time needed to be extended quite a bit because the slices were still quite firm after 15 minutes. The overall cooking was VERY uneven, with the bottom half being soft and pie-like (which is what you want) while the top half was dry and had the stretchy, fibrous consistency of a sponge (Ugh, NO). All the slices stuck to the pan, which made it impossible to remove them without them falling apart. It was basically a complete waste. Why do the instructions not specify greasing the pan? Why is the very uneven cooking not compensated for? I would imagine that a cover of tin foil would have helped, no? Won’t make this again, and I’m glad that it wasn’t for company because I would have had get something else because this result is going straight to the garbage.

We were looking for ways to use up sliced apples my kids were getting with school lunches. Great way to get everyone to eat them! Delicious. We used brown sugar instead of white. And topped it with homemade whipped cream.

I made with 6 apples, but used one half sugar & one half brown sugar, (about 1/2 cup in total), and added juice from 1/2 lemon and a bunch more cinnamon. Baked more like 25m. Served with pork loin in place of applesauce, was great.

Found it extremely delicious! Ate them with some buttered toast and they reminded me a lot of apple-cinnamon mermelade but with a lot more substance, which I actually appreciated a lot more. Will bake again!

The apple slices were done before they were cool. Everyone loved them. Easy to make, but perhaps you should double the recipe when making because they won’t last long.

I would definently made it again it was really good.

Took the suggestions of others and doubled the water and put less cornstarch. Make this to put apples on top of a casserole and it was a nice addition.

This was a fantastic receipe but you can use honey and cinnamon and just roll honey and fin together in a plate and take and roll across them

I was craving baked apples and this looked quick and simple. It was a disappointment because of the cornstarch. It was nothing but a paste taste. I will try again and will leave out the cornstarch.

I paired these apples with some vegan whip cream made with coconut milk. Delicious!

I found the cornstarch glaze to be too thick and the apples a little too crisp. After following the recipe, I added some apple cider and put it back in to bake five more minutes. The texture of the sauce was better, but they could’ve baked longer.

I made it on the spur of the moment. Hubby smoked some ribs & I made this for desert. Ate it hot with whipped cream!! Yum!!

I skipped the cornstarch, might try including it next time. My apples turned out slightly over-baked and mushy so I will shorten the cooking time when I make this again.

My husband and I loved this. I used brown sugar and white sugar and poured melted butter over it. Bake time is a little off for my oven. I had to cook it about 25 minutes. I think next time I’ll add oatmeal to give it a nice, crispy topping.

My family loved it. Very simple to make. I added a little brown sugar, honey and put more than a dash of cinnamon on the apples. Next time I need to have some vanilla ice cream on hand.

After having read the reviews, I decided to use less cornstarch than suggested. I also baked for a longer time.

I enjoyed this recipe. I made it almost exactly the way the recipe said, except that I doubled it and didn’t put quite as much sugar, since it was for my 2 and 4 year olds. The cornstarch does thicken quite a bit, but I pulled it out and stirred the mix twice during cook time, so it didn’t stick to bottom as one reviewer stated. I liked it, but might increase the water to cornstarch ratio, as it seemed a little powdery in the end. I think I might add a little honey and walnuts when I make it again.

This recipe is great! It is super easy and fun for the kids. TIP: when the apples are finished baking and you unstick the apples from the baking sheet, there is clear sticky stuff under the apple slice. That is the stuff that you want, that is the sugar and the sweetness of the apple. If you want your apples to be sweet make sure you eat that also. It is not going to hurt you, it is just the sugar that has been baked. Hope this helped!

I enjoyed it as is, and my husband liked it over ice-cream while it was still warm.

The apples were tasty!! I didn’t use nearly as much sugar…I had more than ha

one Tablespoon of corn starch to 2 1/2 Tablespoons of water does make wallpaper paste. I made it again with two apples, 5 tablespoons of water and a teaspoon of cornstarch, with a bit extra of cinnamon and 3 Tablespoons of honey. That made the sauce something to spoon over ice cream with the apples.
