This recipe is fantastic! It reminds me of days long ago, when I was a kid, and fat was put IN the recipe for the right yummy goodness! I will make this recipe over and over because everyone who ate it – LOVED IT! Thanks for sharing!
This cake is a winner. I used ginger gold apples and used half dark brown sugar and half white. It’s delicious but on the sweet side so if you don’t like overly sweet cakes I’d opt for Granny Smiths and/or reducing the sugar. It’s so moist and easy to make. THANKS TO GRAM!!!
Delicious!! Used 1 cup white and 1/2 cup of light brown sugar. Made exactly as written otherwise.
This was great this is the second time I’ve made it and I did make 2 changes 1. 1 cup of brown sugar 2. 1cup White sugar and 1/2 cup soft butter
I made this for morning church with seasonal apples and it was a big hit. Only change was to substitute light brown sugar for white.
I made this as a treat for my five children, they loved it. I made two adjustments, we used coconut oil in place of vegetable oil and increased the cinnamon to 1 Tbsp because we are cinnamon lovers. Thanks so much, I’m sure the kids will be asking for it again.
