This meal is a hit with my family. It is fantastic! The dish is more akin to bread pudding.

Ingredients
- ⅓ cup semisweet chocolate chips
- ¼ cup unsalted butter
- ½ cup powdered sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 large egg yolk
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- ⅛ teaspoon salt
- 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
Instructions
- Preheat an air fryer to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease 2 individual ramekins.
- Combine chocolate chips and butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high for 1 minute. Stir and microwave at 15-second intervals until almost melted. Remove from the microwave and stir until chocolate is completely melted and thoroughly combined.
- Mix powdered sugar, egg, egg yolk, vanilla extract, and salt into the melted chocolate; whisk until combined. Add flour and mix until incorporated. Pour batter into the prepared ramekins and place into the air fryer basket. Cover the ramekins with large pieces of foil, tucking ends underneath to prevent foil from flying off.
- Cook for 8 to 10 minutes. Remove foil and continue cooking until edges are set, an additional 2 to 4 minutes. Remove from the air fryer and let sit for 5 minutes.
- Invert onto dessert plates and serve immediately.

Just made these, sooo good! Very rich, these can easily be shared.
This was our second recipe we made in our Milex air fryer. I myself and my father in law were a bit skeptical at first, but we were blown away! I also made a small alteration to the recipe. I used Aero to bake chocolate, and a bit more than 1/3 cup. I preheated the fryer on the bake setting, and then the final 4 minutes I put on the air fryer setting at 200 °C. What a delicious recipe!
I’ll admit, I was skeptical with this recipe at first, but once I tried it, I was in love! My parents and siblings ask for it almost every night. I followed the recipe to a tee, but to cook the lava cakes I used the “Bake” setting on my air fryer, set on 350. I cook them for 8 minutes with foil over the ramekins first, then take the foil off and cook them for 4 minutes. When they’re done cooking, I turn the air fryer off, and keep them in there to sit for 5 minutes. They turn out perfect every time, even though I usually double the recipe to make it for 4 (I’ve made it for 6 people as well). Honestly these are super quick to make and very rich molten chocolate cakes, best served with vanilla ice cream, and a drizzle of hot fudge. Try it out, and you won’t regret it.
The only thing that threw my mom off was how gooey the lava cakes were, but once we cooked them longer on our second attempt they were much better! Overall they taste amazing and need to be pared with a giant glass of milk to even put the rich flavor. Well done!
Awesome! Used almond butter instead. Officially turned me into an air fryer freak!!
