a lemon cookie that employs baker’s ammonia as leavening and is truly traditional. It is not as widely accessible as it formerly was, although it is frequently obtained at the pharmacy.

Great time to do with family and have some fun! Everyone enjoyed them!
Made these with 6,5,&4 year old kids for Thanksgiving treat. We had a blast making these tasty treats.
These are so easy and delicious! I used peanut butter instead of melted chocolate to reduce the sweetness and to add protein. I also used Reeses chips instead of butterscotch. The peanut butter doesn’t hold a well but they did fine sitting on a plate.
These were super easy to do and tasted great. The perfect snack!
This was a great and simple recipe, one that kids can easily participate in (although parents might want to put the butterscotch chips on since they are very tiny). I brought them to Thanksgiving dinner at my Amish friend’s house and everyone loved them, not only for their taste but because they were simply too cute! If you can make Amish cooks rave over something, you know it’s a keeper…
Just finished making these on the Friday after Thanksgiving with my 4 yo grand-daughter. We loved making these together and she loved eating the ingredients! PS. They are actually tasty too!!
Super cute and the kids loved making them.
This was so good! The kids love it, and they can make it completely by themselves!!! Definitely will make again!!!!
Easy to put together for a treat the kids really liked. Also makes a great decoration for a Halloween or Thanksgiving table.
I used mini nutter butters! Yummy! Too cute with my Oreo turkeys!
A big hit on Thanksgiving.
These are adorable. They are super fun and easy for the little ones to make all by themselves! We also used peanut butter chips.
So cute and easy to make. I made them on a whim for a bake sale. They were a hit. Such a cute little treat. Easy enough for moms with littles to bond with.
Used peanut butter chips to add a little flavor. everyone loved them
Literally so cute and easy! I substituted chocolate icing for Nutella and butterscotch chips to milk chocolate and peanut butter and loveeeedd the combination. Hopefully everyone at my work party tomorrow agrees!
I used almond kisses and peanut butter. It was so delicious and tasted nutty
These are cute but I probably won’t make them again unless they are making up part of a scene on the table. They were too labor intensive for the flavor. Not that they were that hard to make but they weren’t that good to eat.
Would definitely make these again. They were a big hit. A bit time-consuming to make because I used melted chocolate disks instead of frosting, but totally worth it.
Cute and fun to make!! I used PB chips. TIP – put a little plate over a bowl of hot water, sit the kisses and chips on the plate for, oh 10 seconds or so (depends on how hot your water is and how thick your plate is – if that surface is pretty hot it could just be a few seconds), and just glue the chips and kisses into the nilla wafers with their own melty bottoms. Don’t even mess with frosting, it’s unnecessary, more money, and you’re not sure if it’ll harden or not. Mine also had a cleaner look with this method.
These are really tasty but messy to make. You have to eat them quickly too because the cookies will start to soften if leftover more than a day or so. Great kids recipe for fall.
They were a HUGE hit with both the adults & kids at Thanksgiving dinner! They were also easy to make (& make look nice…) with minimal expense or effort. I used a DH whipped milk choc cake frosting as the ‘glue’ bc I can’t stand heavy frosting & it paired well with the milk choc kisses & butterscotch chips. ..they disappeared quickly & the toughest part was unwrapping the kisses….while I watched tv….I wish kitchen tasks were ALL that easy! (Lol)
