Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  1. 8 ounces milk chocolate, plus more for grating
  2. 4 tablespoons butter, softened
  3. 2 cups heavy cream
  4. 1/4 cup sugar
  5. 4 large egg yolks
  6. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  7. Gummy worms, for serving

Instructions

  1. Melt the chocolate and butter in a double boiler. Set aside to cool a little.
  2. Whip the cream with an electric mixer on high for about a minute. Turn the mixer to low while adding the sugar, then turn back to high and whip to stiff peaks.
  3. Whisk the egg yolks in a pitcher and add the vanilla.
  4. Next, temper the eggs by adding a little of the melted chocolate. Then pour the eggs back into the bowl of melted chocolate and stir to combine. Fold in three-quarters of the whipped cream (refrigerate the remaining whipped cream for serving). Spoon the mousse into serving glasses or bowls and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  5. Serve the mousse with dollops of whipped cream and garnish with grated chocolate and gummy worms.

This recipe was incredible it makes about 6 servings (depends on deriving size) and everyone at my house enjoyed this it was so fun to add the worms that is something I’ve never seen before the only thing that concerned me was the egg maybe you didn’t think about it but eggs shouldn’t be eaten raw so I am debating weather to use this again but over all so yummy

Been using this recipe for months, went to search it today and Google wouldn’t show me this page, and I didn’t remember the website… but I remembered you’re the only person I’ve seen put gummy worms on top when you serve, so I searched images for chocolate mousse, found the image you put with this recipe, and clicked the link. That is what I am willing to go through for this recipe. Love it, comes out wonderful whether I’m using milk chocolate, dark, semi-sweet, and even white. Love it love it love it!!!!
