Wonderful Margarita

The German state of Swabia is known for its onion pies, or zwiebelkuchen. When mom and pop winemakers establish a BasinWirtschaft in their barn or garage in the fall, it is a beautiful time of year. They charge a little price to serve the new wine, fresh zwiebelkuchen, and sometimes some wurst. There are a few tables set up, and they are open when it is convenient to serve. A straw broom will be hung over the threshold to signify their service. Later, the ‘green’ wine and onions can combine explosively!
