Sangrita Fresca (Mexican Sangrita)

A shot of tequila is typically served with the Mexican favorite chaser, sangrita. At your next gathering, serve sangrita, and your guests will be talking about it the next day!

Ingredients

  1. 1 cup freshly squeezed lime juice
  2. 1 thin onion slice
  3. 1 quart freshly squeezed orange juice
  4. hot sauce, or to taste
  5. salt to taste
  6. ¼ cup pomegranate juice

Instructions

  1. Pour lime juice into a glass container and add onion slice; let sit until flavors combine, 20 to 30 minutes. Remove and discard onion.
  2. Mix orange juice, hot sauce, and salt into lime juice; stir well. Stir pomegranate juice into mixture.

Made this for hubby: He said that he liked it! He also said that the onion flavor wasn’t strong, but he could get a hint of it. It went really well with the shot of tequila. I did scale this back quite a bit , just for him to try and drizzled the pomegranate in before serving. He said he would drink this again! Thanks for sharing. 🙂
