This recipe calls for fructose to replace the sugar, and the dough needs to be chilled for 24 hours.

Cook Time: 15 mins
Additional Time: 8 hrs
Total Time: 8 hrs 25 mins
Servings: 4
Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  1. 1 (8 ounce) can pineapple rings, juice drained and reserved
  2. ¼ cup brown sugar
  3. ¼ cup soy sauce
  4. ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  5. 4 pork chops
  6. 1 pinch ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Mix together the drained pineapple juice, brown sugar, soy sauce, and garlic powder together in a large plastic zipper bag, and smush the bag a few times with your hands to mix the marinade and dissolve the sugar. Place the pork chops into the marinade, squeeze out any air in the bag, seal it, and refrigerate overnight. Reserve the pineapple rings.
  2. Preheat an outdoor grill for medium heat, and lightly oil the grate.
  3. Remove the chops from the marinade, shaking off excess, and grill until browned, the meat is no longer pink inside, and the meat shows good grill marks, 5 to 8 minutes per side. Brush several times with marinade and let the marinade cook onto the surface of the meat. Discard excess marinade. While the meat is grilling, place 4 pineapple rings onto the grill, and allow to cook until hot and the slices show grill marks; serve the chops topped with the grilled pineapple rings.

Nice and juicy results. The pineapple on top makes a great combination. I marinated it over night using the juice from a 16 ounce can of pineapple and was glad I had a little extra marinade. I definitely recommend on marinating at least over night if not 24 hours.

like the recipe with 1 exception. Pork Chops should be cooked to an internal temperature of 145°. If you cook them till all the pink is gone they will be dry and tough.
Tyler Martinez
Marinade it as long as you can, it just gets better.

Made these over the 4th of July holiday weekend and they were oh-so-yummy! Didn’t change a thing. Kid and husband approved!

Was told by entire family that these were the best pork chops they’ve ever had. And was real easy to make…will definitely make again and soon!

I added a little cayenne pepper and only let it marinate for two hours. My wife loved it! Definitely will make again.

Made the recipe as stated and it was AMAZING!! I have a charcoal grill and it is as super easy. My pork chops were thin and only took a couple of minutes per side. Next time I will purchase thicker cut chops. Will definitely make again!

Only had 2 hours to marinate, and very thin pork chops, marinade gave it a lot of flavor. My husband doesn’t prefer pork chops and ate it up completely. The grilled pineapple rings definitely complete the dish. When I made the marinade I realized I was out of soy sauce, so I substituted 3T Worcestershire + 1T water for the 1/4 C soy sauce (found this sub recommendation on google).

I was hoping to grill them, but the weather was against me that evening. I also has the chops in the marinade for about 40 hours. I ended up cooking them in my 12″ cast iron pan along with the pineapple rings. cooked them to 145° on medium heat so not to burn the sugar in the marinade. came out perfect!

I did this recipe two ways…. I did two chops with just the pineapple and then also did two that were bacon-wrapped with the pineapple… I loved them both… my roommate said he couldn’t decide which he liked liked more…. juicy and flavorful!!!

I browned them in a pan and finished them in the oven. For the marinade, I added only 1/2 of the soy sauce called for in the recipe. The whole family enjoyed them, even my pickiest eater who kept calling it “good beef”.

I made it again last night and even after marinating the pork overnight and cooking it to 145 it still ended up a bit dry. I do like the pineapple served with the pork.

Quick and easy , tasted great

Not quite to our taste. We marinated for around 20 hours, following the recipe exactly outside of that exception. unfortunately the flavor that everyone talks about was missing for us. It was ok at best.

I actually used a fresh pineapple, so I may have been short on juice. The chops were delicious and tender. A little less sweetness probably would have been better . Grilled pineapple is scrumptious.
