A simple and popular method is used in this oven-roasted sea bass recipe (by popular, I mean my wife). This method, which includes roasting seafood after it has been smeared in a highly seasoned vinaigrette, is what I normally choose whenever I’m not sure what to do with a piece of fish. It is cooked over a hot potato salad.
Prep Time: | 10 mins |
Cook Time: | 50 mins |
Total Time: | 1 hr |
Servings: | 6 |
Yield: | 1 9×13-inch pasta bake |
Ingredients
- 1 pound bulk Italian sausage
- 1 (24 ounce) jar spaghetti sauce
- 1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes
- 1 ¼ cups beef broth
- ¼ cup zesty Italian-style salad dressing
- 1 tablespoon white sugar
- 2 (9 ounce) packages cheese ravioli
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9×13-inch dish and set aside.
- Cook Italian sausage in a skillet over medium-high heat until browned and crumbly, 5 to 10 minutes. Drain off grease. Add spaghetti sauce, diced tomatoes, beef broth, Italian dressing, and sugar. Mix until well combined. Remove from heat and add uncooked ravioli; stir to combine. Pour into the prepared dish.
- Bake in the preheated oven until ravioli are tender, 45 to 55 minutes.
- Top with mozzarella cheese and let sit until cheese is melted. Sprinkle with basil before serving.

My family love this , they eat it up!
Love the flavors…especially how the sauce is so much lighter than just regular spaghetti sauce. So much easier than lasagne!
Added 1/4 cup red wine,
This was eaten up by my family in about an hour. We all came back for seconds. All I had was marinara sauce instead of spaghetti sauce and by mistake I grabbed chicken broth as opposed to beef broth. Other than that made it to the letter. Will be making again and again.
All I can say is, “Super yummy”!
Made it four times now and as written it is great, I have also tried to do everything up to making it ravioli pizza with pepperoni, garlic, mushrooms and jalapenos. Great no matter how you prefer, Wish I could bake, I’d try some of her specialties.
Great dinner for 6. Could easily add double the ravioli. Easy to prepare ahead of time and bake while chatting. Super yummy!

Wanted to make something different than regular spaghetti type meal. This was a great alternative.
Delicious! I added half a white onion and a few cloves of garlic because I had them on hand.
I’ll put less beef stock in. It was kind of soupy! But very very tasty!
This was delicious!! The only thing I altered was that I used one 25 ounce package of ravioli and I did not add the tablespoon of sugar. I also put black pepper and dried basil instead of fresh basil on top of the cheese before I put it back in the oven.
Excellent. My 9 year old grand-daughter made it and LOVED it!
Used frozen spinach and cheese ravioli, ( I let thaw slightly for easier handling) used ground turkey instead of the sausage and used diced tomatoes with green peppers and onions. I used a chunky vegetable sauce.. Wow, major hit with the family. I will be definity making again.
Didn’t change anything. But next time may add mushrooms, and that’s about it . My wife and I really enjoyed it. We usually use white sauce on baked pasta . But will definitely use this recipe again.
Didn’t make any changes. Very good and super easy
Best recipe I’ve used honestly. Entire family enjoyed it.
We goofed and cooked the ravioli before we read that it was to beaded to the mixture uncooked. As a result, it was wetter that it should have been. Regardless, it was delicious. Will make it again, for sure.
My family loved it
Very good. Bold taste. Easy to make. I used cheese tortellini instead of ravioli mainly because the ravioli wasn’t available.
Very good and very easy. Ravioli come out nice and tender. Will make again. Would make a great weeknight meal due to ease of it
