This is a filling dish that is simple to prepare and stores well. I serve it with rice and sweet cornbread using a slotted spoon.

The only substitution I ever make is if I forget to buy fresh ginger, I’ll use 1/4 teaspoon of ground ginger, and occasionally, I will grind my own comino seeds in my molcajete instead of using ground cumin. I think this is a great dish and basmati rice and garlic naan are the perfect accompaniments!
I used dark meat for this recipe. And I was out of cilantro but I had an abundance of basil. I also added a can of fire-roasted diced tomatoes and three diced potatoes since it looked like there was going to be a lot of extra sauce. The results were PHENOMENAL. . This tastes like any tikka masala I’ve had at any given Indian restaurant…to the point that I won’t order it from one since I know I can make it at home. It was a bit watery at first but I continued cooking it with the top off so that the moisture would evaporate. Once i put the cream in everything came together. 10/10 recipe.
Great flavor, loved the convenience of a slow- cook version. Found that the dairy curdles when added as directed, so may alter that in future renditions.
I am not a cinnamon lover, but I went ahead and used the suggested amount of cinnamon, that was alot of all I could taste will cut down on cinnamon next time.
Yup all of the above. It’s simy delicious
Tasty and pretty easy! I omitted the cream because it was liquidy enough already, but was planning to use coconut milk instead of cream. I used cashew yogurt to make it dairy free.
I explicitly followed the directions. The chicken was dry and tasted over cooked. I would make this again but would use boneless thighs. The lemon was unnecessarily. Sauce was too tangy. I would omit the lemon in the future. Served it with garlic naan.
Excellent recipe. You might want to omit the jalapeno pepper if you don’t like it too spicy.
I really liked this recipe, and my kitchen smelled wonderful making it. My husband wasn’t into it as much as I was, but I think that’s because he doesn’t really like Tikka Masala. I enjoyed leftovers from this.
Super easy to make and absolutely delicious!
I made this using my instant pot. I put it on saute while I was adding all the ingredients then cooked under pressure for 30 minutes. I changed it to a slow cooker for 3 hours and it came out perfect. The seasonings were exactly like our favorite indian restaurant. Thank you.
I made the recipe as is and it was delicious. It is flavorful and easy to make. I will probably add onions the next time I make this simply because I like onions.
I was very yummy didn’t change anything. Had rice with it. Wish I had some nann with it but the place I went to was out. But over all it was very delicious .
Whole family loved it. If you like your food on the hit side, some cayenne pepper to taste worked great sprinkled over the top. Our sides were naan and basmati rice.
Great recipe! Don’t forget the lemond and cilantro at the end. They are the final magic touch.
Just ok.
The sauce separates
I didn’t care for that dish. Made it without jalapeño pepper and it still was to spicy, next time I will reduce black pepper to 1tc. Missing some vegetables so I would put okra, onion and as other suggest coconut milk instead cream.
This recipe was easy to follow. I may not have had all the ingredients, but it was soo delicious. Such a tasty sauce. I did need to purchase more spices to complete the dish, but I feel it was worth it.

This was a big hit with my family. The chicken was moist and tender after slow cooked for 4 1/2 hours.
