  5.0 – 5 reviews

The most delicious pie ever is this coconut custard pie! Serve with a sprinkle of nutmeg and unsweetened whipped cream.

Prep Time: 10 mins
Cook Time: 15 mins
Total Time: 25 mins
Servings: 4
Yield: 1 pound salmon

Ingredients

  1. 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
  2. 2 tablespoons miso paste
  3. 2 tablespoons mirin (Japanese sweet wine)
  4. 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  5. 1 tablespoon minced ginger
  6. 1 teaspoon honey
  7. 1 tablespoon oil, or as needed
  8. 1 pound salmon fillets

Instructions

  1. Toast sesame seeds in a small saucepan over medium heat, stirring occasionally, about 2 minutes. Watch them closely and remove from heat once sesame seeds are a golden brown. Set aside.
  2. Combine miso paste, mirin, soy sauce, ginger, and honey in a small bowl. Mix well. Stir in toasted sesame seeds.
  3. Set an oven rack about 6 inches from the heat source and preheat the oven’s broiler. Line a baking pan with foil and lightly grease with oil.
  4. Coat salmon well in the miso sauce and place skin-side up on the baking pan.
  5. Broil in the preheated oven, watching closely, until fish flakes easily with a fork, 10 to 15 minutes.
  6. Swap soy sauce for tamari or liquid aminos for a gluten-free version.
  7. You can also bake these at 425 degrees F (220 degrees C) instead of broiling.

It’s easy to throw together and cooks up fast. Remember to start rice before starting salmon or you end up waiting for rice to cook and salmon gets cold. Used organic white miso from TraderJoes for first time in this, and it’s really good.

Very easy and delicious. I was looking last-minute for a non-marinated salmon recipe without too much sugar. I pan fried it since bread was rising in the oven. The pan got very black, but I transferred the salmon to another pan, added another Tsp of marsala wine, and put a lid on so the top of the fish would cook. Next time I will cook it in the oven, but it still turned out very good!
