Cream Cheese Frosting

Ingredients

  1. 2 8-ounce packages cream cheese, at room temperature
  2. 2 1/2 sticks (6 ounces) unsalted butter, cubed, at room temperature
  3. 2 cups confectioners’ sugar
  4. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Beat the cream cheese in a large bowl with an electric mixer until smooth and fluffy. Gradually beat in the butter, beating until smooth. Sift the sugar into the bowl and beat until smooth. Add the vanilla and beat until light and fluffy. Refrigerate until slightly chilled and firm, about 20 minutes.
