Quick Chocolate Peanut Butter Brownies

  3.0 – 2 reviews  • Chocolate Brownie Recipes

To make a straightforward but tasty soup, combine cream cheese, roasted broccoli, and vegetable broth. Broccoli tastes better when roasted because it develops nutty and sweet flavors.

Prep Time: 15 mins
Cook Time: 30 mins
Total Time: 45 mins
Servings: 24
Yield: 2 dozen brownies

Ingredients

  1. 2 cups chocolate chips
  2. 1 cup butter
  3. ½ cup peanut butter
  4. ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  5. 1 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  6. 1 cup white sugar
  7. 3 eggs, beaten
  8. 2 teaspoons baking soda
  9. ¼ teaspoon salt
  10. ½ cup chopped walnuts (Optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Melt the chocolate chips, butter, and peanut butter together in the top of a double boiler over simmering water, stirring frequently and scraping down the sides with a rubber spatula to avoid scorching. Stir vanilla into chocolate mixture.
  3. Stir flour, sugar, eggs, baking soda, and salt into the chocolate mixture. Fold walnuts into batter. Pour batter into prepared baking dish.
  4. Bake brownies in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist chunks on it, but not wet, about 30 minutes. Cool to room temperature before cutting into squares.
  5. You can substitute 3/4 cup Splenda(R) for 1 cup white sugar, and 1/2 cup chocolate chips for the walnuts.

These were pretty quick to make. However, they seem to have too much butter (the recipe called for 1 cup). They came out very greasy and they were not gooey at all! They have a very weird texture. They tasted okay, I think the consistency and texture affected the taste.

I am not sure I would consider this quick. Melting chocolate took longer than most recipes. The brownies were good. Omitted the walnuts. Everyone at them.
