The finest way to eat seafood is with this Old Bay-infused seafood boil. The salt, thyme, and lemon really bring the water to a boil. Even if you are not a great fan of seafood, the potatoes, corn, and sausage will make your mouth wet. Take time to unwind with your family and enjoy this meal in the summer or at Christmas. Serve with sourdough bread, chilled beer, fresh lemons, Bloody Marys, and lots of napkins.

Ingredients

  1. 2 cups white sugar
  2. 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  3. 1 cup all-purpose flour
  4. 1 cup chopped pecans
  5. 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. In a 1 quart or 1 liter jar, layer the ingredients in the order listed. Attach a tag with the following instructions:
  2. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch pan. In the large bowl of an electric mixer, cream 1 cup butter or margarine, softened. Add 4 eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each addition. Add Brownie Mix and beat until smooth. Spread into greased pan and bake 40 to 50 minutes in the preheated oven, until a toothpick inserted into the center, comes out clean.

These brownies are great. However they were dry so I adjusted the recipe a little. I used 1 cup of vegetable oil instead of butter, and I used 2 eggs instead of 4, and I added a splash of vanilla extract and 1/2 cup of milk and cooked them in the oven of 350° for 30 minutes and they turned out moist, fudgey, and perfect. This recipe had good flavor, however, it was extremely dry! I followed all directions and even took the brownies out of the oven before I was supposed to, and they were so dry you could barely swallow! I would say maybe add some oil or something to give them some moisture.

I thought this recipe was great. I did not use in a gift jar, if just made the recipe. I also frosted my brownies with chocolate frosting. The only thing I would suggest is not flouring your pan or use very little flour.It looked horrible seeing that flour thru a clean pan.

This tends to be dry & flaky on the top. I think if a little vegetable oil and water were added and maybe 1 egg reduced, it would be more moist. Otherwise, this was very chocolately & good.
