Reviews
This is an excellent recipe and will definitely be added to the family favourites! I normally wouldn’t give a five star review when I’ve made changes, but since they were minor and based purely on preference, I think these would be five stars without any changes at all. According to recommendations of other reviewers, I increased the cocoa and chocolate chips, to 3/4 cup and 1 1/2 cups, respectively, since we wanted a nice, chocolatey cookie. I also took the advice of dipping them in granulated sugar before cooking. They’re an absolute hit. These cookies don’t spread out much while cooking, so if you want that ‘cookie’ shape, squish them down a bit. Though, in that case, they may not be as moist on the inside. I used a fan-forced oven setting and baked them for 12 minutes at 180C.
Delicious! I followed the recipe with the slightest of variations: used packed dark brown sugar instead of regular brown sugar and for the cocoa powder I used half regular cocoa powder and half special dark. Basically the original recipe and it was wonderful. My family gobbled up the first batch that came out. The third batch I decided to roll in cinnamon sugar before putting them in the oven and they were fabulous. Great basic recipe to experiment with or enjoy as is. Thank you!
Chewy extra chocolatey cookies!!! Yum! Next time I’ll use a 3rd egg to hold together even better. After mixing the batter, I allowed it to sit an hour before baking. My small scooper yielded 100 perfect small round cookies which taste awesome with cold milk. The 15 minutes bake time was perfect for my oven; watch your first pan carefully for your own perfect timing.
Great recipe… I increased the chips and coco to give the cookies a real solid chocolate taste. Yum-yum! Gonna keep this one in my favorites!
This was great as is! I chilled the dough for an hour in the fridge to develop flavor before baking.
Great recipe. I substituted 1/2 cup of Splenda for 1/2 cup of sugar; 1/2 cup of whole wheat flour for 1/2 cup of flour, 1/2 shortening for 1/2 cup of butter all to make it healthier for us dieters. I also baked the cookies at 375 for 12 minutes because that is how I bake all my cookies. Thanks!!
A delicious cookie! I only changed a couple things, because of another comment, and used oat flour in place of all purpose flour, and dipped the dough balls into granulated sugar before baking. My husband loves them! Thanks for the recipe.
Fantastic Cookie !! Made exactly per recipe. A hit with the teenage boys and the adults. Will become a regular cookie in our household
Followed recipe to a T and these turned out great! Delicious cookies!
This recipe is perfect for experimenting! I added everything from almonds to Nutella to dried cranberries to Oreo filling to peanut butter. Just roll into a ball, flatten, place whatever you want inside and roll back up! Some of them I left plain but rolled in sugar or sprinkled with sea salt
I made these cookies exactly as written, but baked them for about two more minutes than called for. They are a big hit with my husband and son. This will be a go-to cookie recipe for me.
I added 1.5 cups of chocolate chips and followed the rest of the recipe to rave reviews
What a wonderfully chocolatey experience!! I followed the recipe with the exception of two things, 1 I used oatmeal flour in place of all-purpose. Easy to make at home with a high speed blender – like 10 seconds and done! This change is simply because we’ve banned white flour from the house, so there was none to be had. 2 I added dried cherries. We had some on hand that needed to be used. Other then those two changes, I kept to the recipe and the cookies came out perfectly yummy! Will certainly make again. Follow-up: My wife is generally not thrilled with sweets in the house and she “scolds” me when I bake (but of course she also enjoys them!). She saw the recipe I jotted down on a piece of paper and left on the kitchen counter. She brought it to me and I thought, uh-oh, she’s gonna be upset. But instead, she set it on the table in front of me and said, “Please write down the name of these cookies so we know what this is. You must make them again. This is a keeper!” She’s not wrong! I kept a few out and stuck the rest in the freezer – great for a little evening snack.
This recipe hit my love of choclate plus the oatmeal adds a non-guilty pleasure.
Totally nailed it!!! I made it just now. I thought it will be like other recipes that I used before but this recipe save my day!!!
Oh my gosh, these cookies are GREAT! I was looking for an oatmeal chocolate chip cookie and stumbled upon this recipe. It is my new FAVORITE cookie recipe! : )
These cookies are “the bomb”! Chocolate deliciousness. I followed the recipe exactly as written.
This is an awesome cookie recipe, The only change I made was dipping only half the cookie in sugar before baking as others suggested. Crisp on the outside, chewy on the inside! Yummy!
Great recipie. Was skeptical about the wet to dry ingredient amounts but came out great! I added 3/4 tsp of pumpkin pie spice. Gave some nice depth to the flavor.
Easy and delicious recipe! Recommend cooking them only 12-13 otherwise, it was perfect!
I made these using 1/2 cups less oats based on other reviews. I baked them for 13 mins since my oven runs a little hot and they were awesome! Will be saving this recipe for sure!!
