Cheesecake Brownies

  4.5 – 566 reviews  • Chocolate Brownie Recipes

The best, moistest, and most decadent brownies I’ve ever tasted—and I’ve had a lot of brownies—are these ones. The time spent in preparation (and cleanup) is well worth it. You might even want to make yourself a pan! The recipe should only be doubled.

Prep Time: 15 mins
Cook Time: 25 mins
Total Time: 40 mins
Servings: 24
Yield: 24 brownies

Ingredients

  1. 1 (18.25 ounce) package brownie mix
  2. 3 tablespoons water
  3. ½ cup vegetable oil
  4. 2 large eggs
  5. 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
  6. 1 large egg
  7. ⅓ cup white sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9×13-inch pan.
  2. Prepare brownie mix: Stir brownie mix, water, oil, and eggs in a medium bowl until well blended. Spread evenly into the prepared pan.
  3. Prepare cheesecake topping: Beat together cream cheese, egg, and sugar using an electric mixer until smooth. Dollop the cream cheese mixture on top of the brownie batter. Swirl together using a knife or skewer.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 22 to 25 minutes. Brownies will be done when a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool in the pan, then cut into 24 squares and serve.
  5. The directions for making the brownies are based on a Betty Crocker Fudge Brownie Mix. Follow instructions on the box regarding oven temperature, added ingredients, and cooking time if using a different brand.

Kids want me to make these weekly they are definitely a hit in my household. We like them thicker though so i just use a round glass dish and cook them for about 35 minutes.

Super easy and just as good. I did what another reviewer wrote, I saved some of the fudge mix and spread it on top of the cheese cake mix then swirled. DELISH

I made the brownies from “scratch” and added the cheesecake topping from the recipe. The recipe was easy to follow and the result was excellent!

I made the recipe exactly as stated. Unfortunately, the batter was runny & took an additional 25min. When it was finished, the texture was rubbery & it tasted awful

So cute

I wanted to like it but it wasnt great. I followed directions to a tee. The cream cheese was super runny. It lacked flavor

The family liked it very much. I added nuts and coconut just because. The brownies tasted like a lava cake after cooling them off a bit. Next time I will layer the two mixes as the nearly all white topping was not easy to swirl. I couldn’t make it look nice, but the boys and spouse loved it. Would make a nice dessert to give to someone special.

Made these with my daughter. It was her first time helping with brownies. they were really good, we used a little extra cream cheese, it turned out a bit more like cheesecake, which is our favorite dessert. Really happy with how it turned out!

Easy and very good recipe

These were really good, but hard to get out of the pan and fell apart. I used the same box mix I always use that I never have problems with. Not sure what happened.

Made this for many covered dish parties, always a big hit! I make it as written, except I bake it about 5 minutes longer.

I made this as written (besides my brownie mix said 9×9 pan) added red and green food coloring to cream cheese mixture separated in bowls, then marbled the colors on top. it looked great and everyone said they were good.

I added some chocolate chunks to the brownie batter, just for a little extra oomph!
Edward Jackson
Too much cheesecake in the mix. Made it exactly as instructed.
