These are worth making if you want a little different twist on chocolate chip cookies. These cookies are small, not much bigger than a half dollar when baked. Makes more than 50 cookies. I used a small scoop for the 1″ balls. You need to chill these for an hour before baking so plan for that. The chips are chunks, not normal chip size. You only use egg yolks with these. This makes the cookies chewy due to the lack of egg whites. The chucks of chocolate, in such a small cookie lead to a big bite of chocolate. My only disappointment was that I could only find Nestles chocolate chunks in the grocery store. I would have preferred a better chocolate. Nestles does not get very high ratings in the chocolate world. But, to the average cookie eater, they are pretty darn yummy. (Per the other review…Flat cookies can happen when the oven is not hot enough, when the dough is too warm when starting to bake, the butter is too warm when creaming with the sugar or the baking soda has gone flat – the dough spreads too much. Hard to say what exactly went wrong.)

My Chip Chubbies tasted good, but flattened out. I thought the little balls would be cute and different from the usual chocolate chip cookie. What could have happened.
