Level: Easy
Total: 35 min
Active: 15 min
Yield: 8 servings

Ingredients

  1. 4 ripe Bosc pears
  2. One 12-ounce (8-roll) tube refrigerated cinnamon roll dough with icing packet, such as Pillsbury
  3. 2 tablespoons sugar
  4. About 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  5. 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  6. 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves

Instructions

  1. Place a rack in the middle of the oven and preheat to 350 degrees F.
  2. Halve the pears lengthwise and scoop out the centers with a tablespoon to make a cavity that will fit a cinnamon roll. Cut a thin slice from the bottom of each pear half so the pears sit flat. Arrange the pears on a rimmed baking sheet and fit a cinnamon roll into each cavity. Sprinkle the pears and cinnamon rolls with the sugar.
  3. Bake until the pears are tender and the cinnamon rolls are puffed and golden, about 20 minutes.
  4. Empty the icing packet into a small bowl and add the lemon juice, cinnamon and cloves. Stir to make a smooth glaze.
  5. Drizzle the glaze over the pears and cinnamon rolls. Serve warm.

My family and I loved this recipe! My cinnamon rolls were cooked through just fine. I even added some whip cream! Yum!

I wanted to love this recipe but it was so disappointing! Like another reviewer, my cinnamon rolls were completely raw in the middle after the 20 minute bake time. I had already put the glaze on top but I put them back in the oven any way and after another 20 minutes, still raw. I moved the rolls straight to the pan and they ended up getting way overcooked on top before they were done in the middle. Not edible and had to trash them. Unfortunately because they are very pretty.

The bottom of the rolls were completely raw after more than 20 minutes. I wish I’d known that before I put all my icing on top.

I’d recommend saving your pears and rolls for something else. Or if you still really want to make this, bake for about 15 min, flip the rolls and bake for another 10 or so minutes before taking them out. And make sure to check that the dough is cooked all the way through before eating.
