This is the best chocolate pie I’ve ever had. I will never use boxed pudding again!
Easy enough recipe with nice rich flavor!
Love this pie and my friends want my recipe. Of course I tell them it’s a family recipe from Rea. We get a good laugh, Awesome pie,
Simple enough to make, but I did not read the directions well and ended up putting in whole eggs. This however worked–a bit lumpy but nothing an immersion blender could not correct. Set firm and my 92 yo father really felt it was tasty.
This is a very rich and delicious pie. I covered it with homemade whipped cream to cut the sweet. It was a hit at Christmas dinner!! After reading that some found it a bit runny, I was sure to properly boil the milk mixture. The texture was silky and firm as a pudding would be.
started making this pie years ago when the episode first aired. Always a hit!
I made this pie for the first time for Thanksgiving. It is decadent and delicious. Very chocolatey and rich. It set beautifully and held together great when sliced. It is very easy to make. It took me less than an hour to make two pies. My suggestion for novice cooks (like myself) is after you pour the filling into the crust, let it cool before putting it in the fridge. Otherwise you’ll get condensation build up which will make it soggy.
Absolutely decadent and easy to make. Recommend having it set for longer than you think
Filling was delicious, but didn’t set once cut and I made it the day before.
We TRIED to make this pie and we must have done SOMETHING wrong, I’m not sure what though. We followed the recipe as closely as we could but the filling was unbelievably soupy and thin that it never set.
What a bummer….
