Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  1. ½ cup all-purpose flour, or as needed
  2. 3 tablespoons honey
  3. 3 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  4. ½ cup Italian-seasoned bread crumbs, or more as needed
  5. 1 pound chicken tenders
  6. ½ teaspoon salt
  7. ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  8. 3 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. Place flour in a shallow dish. Mix honey and Dijon mustard in another shallow dish. Place bread crumbs in a third shallow dish.
  2. Season chicken tenders with salt and pepper. Coat with flour then dip into honey-mustard mixture, and finally into the bread crumbs, pressing bread crumbs into chicken.
  3. Melt 2 tablespoons butter in a large skillet. Cook chicken until golden brown, 4 to 5 minutes. Carefully turn tenders over, add remaining 1 tablespoon butter, and cook until chicken is fully cooked and golden brown, an additional 2 to 3 minutes.

Frying breaded anything – in this case, chicken tenders – are still a cooking skill I have to master. This was good but some of my breading off when I flipped them. A few others; a tad burnt. But! taste was – for us – just okay good. I love Dijon! It went well with Chef John’s sausage gravy from this site. Glad we tried! I might try again if I can master the stovetop fry method! Thanks Yoly!

These are super quick to prep and cook and they are delicious. I made exactly as written. My husband asks me to make them again.

I made this in my cast iron skillet. I used a little corn oil instead of butter. It didn’t take long to make these delicious, crispy tenders. I served it with white rice and roasted broccoli. This recipe is a keeper for sure.

Tasted alright. Frustrated with the coating falling off while cutting and turning in the pan. Won’t make again.

Yum! I only had panko so I added some Italian seasoning to that and when I cooked it I used a combination of lemon olive oil and butter. Otherwise I followed the recipe. Tonight we have some leftovers for dinner! Yum! Thanks, Yoly!
