Easy Baked Chicken Thighs

  4.2 – 140 reviews  • Thighs

One of the best adult beverages for hot weather ever is this spicy, flavorful, acidic, delightfully refreshing beer-based cocktail. It’s been compared as “Bloody Mary meets Mimosa,” which is kind of accurate but also makes me never want to go to brunch again. Tomato juice is one option, as is making your own with fresh cherry tomatoes.

Prep Time: 5 mins
Cook Time: 30 mins
Total Time: 35 mins
Servings: 4

Ingredients

  1. 4 chicken thighs
  2. 4 teaspoons garlic powder
  3. 4 teaspoons onion flakes

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. Place chicken thighs in a baking dish; season both sides with garlic powder and onion flakes.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven until no longer pink at the bone and juices run clear, about 30 minutes. An instant-read thermometer inserted into thickest part of thigh, near the bone, should read 165 degrees F (74 degrees C).

Bone in skin on thighs take longer to cook, boneless would probably be fine for this amount of time at given temp. Chicken 101

Great recipe if you like have raw chicken…just salt, pepper, poultry seasoning….350 for 1 hour for all chicken parts ( thighs, breast and drums) it’s not rocket science. It’s my 45 year old recipe

I used johnr’s cooking instructions and it turned out delicious.

Baked at 425 for 45 minutes on foil-lined cookie sheet sprayed with cooking spray. Sprayed each thigh with I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter and sprinkled with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, chile powder. Skin was crispy and meat was moist and flavorful. Delish!

I made this tonight using garlic and onion powder, paprika, tumeric, poultry seasoning, salt and pepper. Baked at 375 for 40 mjnutes. Used a meat thermometer a d temp was between 195 and 175 because they were not all the same size.

Need to add liquid to the pan of some sort-spraying the pan with Pam wasn’t enough to keep it from sticking

I used onion powder instead of flakes. I did not measure the garlic or onion powder, I just sprinkled some on the chicken thighs. It cooked well in 35 minutes.

I used salt and pepper and paprika, cook @ 450 for 45 minutes

It took more than 30 minutes to reach temp of 165, but they were delicious!

Did not really work for me. Your “come on” picture looks nothing like the finished recipe picture. The latter looked more like what I ended up with. Not a bit of brown or crisp on the skin. In the “come on” picture, the chicken skin and surrounding juices in the baking dish clearly is not what is representative of the graphic shown with the recipe, where the skin is clearly pale and not browned, after the thighs had already been baked for more than 60 minutes . I discarded the uncooked skin and was able to enjoy the meat. However, the end result was relatively unremarkable and overall disappointing, requiring salt, pepper, lemon juice… This gets a 3 star.

Added carrots, mushrooms and potatoes

Used skinless thighs & crushed French Onion crisps rather than onion flakes. And it needed a few more minutes in the oven. Delicious!

The recipe was a terrific template, and the comments were helpful as well. I rubbed the thighs under the skin with seasoned salt, garlic and onion powders, paprika, and cayenne and black peppers, then baked it on parchment in a pan at 400 for 40ish minutes. When I temped it, it was 170 yet the meat was still moist. Tasted delicious and a family member who generally does not comment on dinner said she enjoyed it!

Delicious and easy

chicken is tender and juicy but PALE. I had to cook it closer to 40 mins to get to temp, but skin never crisped up.

Great, basic chicken thigh recipe. I’m planning on using many different seasoning combinations in the future.

Yes! Very good. I used boneless and skinless and still had to cook longer. I did poke holes and added Worcestershire . It was very juicy. I added it to the Fettuccine with Sweet Pepper recipe that I found on this site.

Turned great! Crispy on the outside, moist inside! Yes 450 at 45-50 minutes works best!

I only left one star out because I had to turn up the temp and cook them longer. I did 450° for about 50 minutes. I seasoned with the same recommended ones in the recipe, under the skin, over the skin and underneath. My spouse said it was the best he’s had in a long time!

This was delicious and moist. I put it in the oven for 35 minutes. It didn’t turn out like the picture, so don’t expect any crispiness if you follow the directions (hence the 4 stars). I served it with a side of green beans seasoned with McCormick’s garlic and herb. Easy meal 🙂
