Baked Chicken Wings

In the Dominican Republic, I came up with this dish. I had to be creative with the ingredients that were readily available and reasonably priced because I lived in a small, rural coastal town. This was a simple, delicious recipe that I used to prepare for my friends during the rainy season because carrots grow wildly there. It was the first recipe I really came up with on my own, and I still adore it. Add chia seeds, minced chives, toasted sliced almonds, or microgreens as desired as a garnish.

Crazy easy to make and family LOVES them! It’s a keeper!

Loved the combination of spices; even though I was out of garlic, I just used extra garlic powder and it worked just fine. I was very happy with how it turned out. I had to do the spices and oil in 2 batches. I did bake it for 15 minutes at 400 to help get the skin crispy, then 45 minutes at 375 – as the side I had went with the latter baking time and temp. So everything was done at the same time. This recipe is a keeper!

My entire family loved it! Ty … sorry but it was SO FANTASTIC that it was almost gone as soon as I took it out of the oven so I never had the chance to snap a picture! Never thought I would be able to make finger linking out of this WORLD wings without deep frying them! YUMMY I am extremely pleased and proud of what I am cooking… tyvm. Mary

Loved this recipe! ❤️ I baked them at 425° for 20 minutes then broiled them for 6 minutes to get them crispy. I served them with Sweet Baby Ray’s spread on top and grilled zucchini and carrots. Absolutely delicious

Sooooo good. It’s a family favorite. I have to quadruple the recipe. We add hot sauces from Hot Ones by Heatonist. I’ve made this many many times.

These were delicious. I had 24 wings, so doubled oil and spices. I did add a dash or two of hot sauce and 2 capful of apple cider vinegar, a tad sugar.

Extremely easy to prepare! I was not able to find my chili powder so I substituted it for an equivalent amount of Frank’s Red Hot Original Seasoning blend. I also cheated with the garlic (didn’t have any clove garlic) by using a generous dollop of minced garlic from a jar! But I think the Seasoning Blend only enhanced an already great simple recipe. I will be making this again!!

The prep work is easy. I let my wings marinate overnight. While your wings are baking, make some celery sticks and get your favorite dip ready. These wings taste excellent.

I didn’t use a bag. I just rubbed the wings with olive oil first in a bowl. I added a couple drops of liquid smoke to the olive oil, I couldn’t taste that at all. I added Morton’s salt to the seasoning, which made it to salty. But the flavor was really good, I also added a little cornstarch to try to crisp them, but I don’t think that did anything. I then broiled the wings on low for about 10 minutes to get them to brown a little after the 40 minutes at 400 degrees. My five year old loves them and that’s who I cooked them for, so win win!

I marinated the wings for about 2 hours before cooking. My husband is not a big fan of chicken wings, but really liked these. I love chicken wings and enjoy trying different wing recipes. I thought these were just ok.

I made these and I sure will do it again. It will be one of my favorites.

I modified the spices a bit (that’s what I do), still, the rest of the instructions worked great. It was very simple, crispy and tasty.

I made a batch as is without the crushed cloves of garlic because I didn’t have any. Also made a batch without the chili powder adding grated Parm cheese. Big hit. No more fried wings for this hous.

I’ve made these style wings a few times. A few tweaks here and there like adding some smoked paprika to the spice mix and little to no salt. Montreal chicken and steak seasoning garlic and herb and smoked paprika topped with fresh Italian herbs. Made them a year ago today at work during a nasty snow storm. Making them now at home. Great taste. Great crisp. Perfect recipe to doctor up to your own likeness.

I added teryaki and sesame to 2 wings. Excellent! Thank you. Oh I added bread crumbs!
Michael Smith
Excellent wings. I substituted blackened chicken seasoning for the chili powder (since I didn’t have any) and it was amazing! A keeper! 45 minutes tops. An hour would burn.

Absolutely delicious!
