Ingredients
- Nonstick baking spray, for the pan
- One approximately 16-ounce box white cake mix
- One 14-ounce can sweetened condensed milk
- One 12-ounce can evaporated milk
- 1/4 cup whole milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- One 15-ounce container nondairy whipped topping
- 1/2 cup sprinkles
- One 12-ounce jar maraschino cherries, drained
Instructions
- Spray a 9-by-13-inch cake pan with nonstick baking spray.
- Bake the cake according to the cake mix package instructions in the greased cake pan. Let cool. Poke holes in the surface of the cake with a toothpick or thin skewer.
- Pour the sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, whole milk and vanilla into a pitcher and whisk thoroughly. Slowly pour the milk mixture over the top of the cake. Let the cake sit and absorb the milk mixture until it has soaked in, 20 to 30 minutes.
- Spread the whipped topping evenly over the top. Decorate with the sprinkles and cherries.

We love the Pioneer Woman and can’t wait to visit The Merc, especially since it’s only a few hours from our home. This recipe unfortunately didn’t turn out very well for us. It was too soggy for us to even enjoy. I double checked the ingredients and I’m still unsure where we went wrong. Can’t wait to try another recipe with hopefully better luck!
It was a hit at my house. I love that it is such a simple desert to make. I baked the cake. My 13 year old daughter enjoyed adding the milks, cool whip, and sprinkles. It was very light. Prefect summer cake.
It was pretty good. I made it with cheap store-brand ingredients though, which may have affected the quality of the final product.

I have made your original Tres Leches Cake at least a dozen times in the past. It is absolutely delicious and worth the time of baking from scratch. Loved making this easy recipe after seeing it on the food network. I substituted whipping cream for milk and added a bit more vanilla and topped with extra creamy whipped cream. What a great (and easy) recipe!
