There is a typo in this recipe. I think “2 cups whole milk” might be 2 teaspoons? Perhaps 2 tablespoons, but I’d go with just barely enough milk to make the dressing pourable.
We adapted and used 1/2 cup sour cream for the milk and used a prepared coleslaw mix 14oz. The adapted dressing was absolutely perfectly creamy and delicious! Have made notes of adaption. Will make again and again. My husband said not to change a thing.
Too runny. Not flavorful.
I actually bought prepackaged cabbage (coleslaw blend) then made the dressing per the recipe. Excellent flavor and tastes even better the next day when it soaks into the cabbage.
Amazing!! I like all her recipes!! You can always personalize it at your own taste! I have made some of her recipe and wow me and my family! Yummm!!
Very disappointed. Made this for Memorial Day picnic this year (2018) and it was way too thin and runny. I ended up “doctoring” it up myself by adding some more Mayo and stuff. Usually her stuff is reliable, but this was to runny for my families taste.
My family and I loved this. You can add or remove or lessen a few things if something not your fave but still good. My 2 year old will eat this like the recipie says as if he was eating potato chips. (He is a very picky eater)
Just tried it. Great flavor(no cayenne). Used 1 cup milk, 1 1/2 mayo; it was perfect
I’m surprised this recipe has been allowed to stand without at least comment by Ree, telling us it is a correct printing, and that either it thickens, or is well absorbed, or stands up to the coleslaw….OR correct the weird ratio of 2 – 1 milk/mayo. Strange. I want to try it, but hate wasting my ingredients & time, therefore, 1 star for imbalance appearing ingredients.
Perfect as is! Vinegar causes milk to thicken nicely. I added a touch more cayenne as we like the heat. Perfect slaw dressing!!
