Level: Easy
Yield: 1 burger

Instructions

  1. Put bacon strips on a parchment-line baking sheet; put another pan on top. Bake at 400 degrees, 10 minutes, then uncover and back 10 more minutes.
  2. Lightly mix 6 ounces ground beef chuck with a big pinch of kosher salt. Form into a ball, then into a 3/4-inch-thick patty; make an indentation in the center. Heat a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat; sprinkle the skillet with salt.
  3. Cook the burger 4 to 5 minutes per side; top with 2 slices cheddar in the last minute of cooking (cover to melt). Serve on a sesame bun with the bacon.

Delicious. This is the basic recipe I have always used. I do shop for wider buns though because I like my hamburger patties thin. Also a thinner patty allows for more condiments. I love my burgers loaded especially with extra bacon.

People that post and rate a recipe and have not made it are Idiots. I have no time for you, as I am sure others would agree. (BTW, learn how to spell) I have made these Bacon Cheese Burgers, and they are great. I would advise that you don’t need the second baking sheet, just use the one with parchment paper or a rack, it works great. Break the bacon in half after cooking, so it is not overlapping the burger and you have more bacon per bite. And the lettuce and tomato under the burger is the way to go.
