I listened to the previous reviews and opted to only put the Chex mix on
top (none mixed in) and it was very tasty!  I didn’t think the rye
chips would be a good match with the brownies, so I picked them out and
used as many pretzels as I could find, then sprinkled on the Chex and
bread sticks.  I’m only giving it 4 stars because you do need to tweak
the recipe, but do try it this way.  I also mixed some peanut butter
chips into the batter and swirled in some peanut butter.  I would
definitely make this again with the changes.

If you want to make these try this instead: make brownie mix according to instructions and then fold in 1/2 c. mini marshmallows or plain nuts of some type. Then (top) with 1 c. Chex mix. Otherwise, the Chex mix gets soggy while baking. That’ll make them good.

These could work if you just put the snack mix on top and not in the brownie mix.  The top stayed crunchy but snack mix in the batter turned soggy and tough.

These were awful. Wish I read the reviews before I made them. Tough and chewy. I am noted for making the best brownies. Definitely not these. Very disappointed.

I was excited to try this recipe because I love sweet and salty type treats and I love Chex mix and chocolate but I was disappointed by the end result. The snack mix on top was nice and crispy but the mix in the brownies tasted tough and hard to eat. When they tasted it on the show they made it sound great and I am disappointed that it was just for show.

They were perfect.  I can’t believe how people complain.  I made these, and then made a layer of peanubutter fudge to go over the op of the brownie, and when all that was set up I drizzled it all over with Caramel and Chocolate fudge sauce and White Chocolate.  Talk about friggin great…..I will be the next host on The Food Network.  Thanks for all the great recipes and sorry that most of your viewers don;t know how to cook even though most of it has already been made for them.  YOU GUY’S ROCK

Not good as is.  Would be better w pretzels only in the batter and chex on top.  Everything but the pretzel got soft and not so good in the batter.

This recipe was clearly an ad for Chex, as the actual product was shown (rather than the label covered over or the mix having come from a glass canister or something.  Food Network, The Kitchen, and Jeff Mauro should all be ashamed.  They knew the recipe wasn’t good — certainly not good enough to put on the program and to rave about — but it was an advertising “deal.”  Shameful.

Big bummer. These stay crisp – maybe 24 hours. Then even the brownie part is unchewable. Toss this one aside Sandwich King.. I tried – to the letter.

I made them for my family yesterday.  They were a huge hit.  I had 2 more of them today and they are still crispy and yummy.  I used a Ghirardelli brownie mix.  Will definitely make them again.
