This was pretty good. There must be a typo with the 2 eggs. 2 cups of milk and only 2 eggs? I don’t think so. I used 6 eggs. I added some leftover diced ham. I put the tots in the air fryer for 15 min so they would be crispy. I added some garlic and onion powder. Cooked it for 45 min. Poured country gravy over the top. Easy dish to make and will make again.

I first printed out this recipe 12 years ago. My family loves it. I do precook full size tater tots for about 15 minutes because we like them crispy on top. I double the eggs from 2 to 4 and add about a half cup of cheese. I came back to make sure I had it saved in my favorites in case my marked up print out ever goes missing. That would be disastrous.

This recipe was kind of a strange to me. It seemed to call for too much milk and not enough eggs. I definitely added more eggs like others suggested. I used 5 and wished I had used even more. I think 6-8 would be best to fluff it up a little more. It seemed a bit flat without more egg. I also used half breakfast and half Italian sausage, added dry ranch mix to the egg, as well as the shredded cheddar to the egg mix. I also reserved some cheese and topped it over the tater tots. It tasted good, but not stupendous like others have suggested. If I make it again, I’ll try using 6 duck eggs and maybe add sliced scallions to the egg mixture too. But the dry ranch spice jar from Costco adds great flavor to any egg scrambles. I highly recommend it!

Delish!! Used 5-6 eggs, and extra meat! This was so good, it’s a favorite around here!

After reading the reviews I increased the eggs to 4. After adding the egg mixture I refrigerated overnight. The next day I prebaked the tots before layering them on top because we like ours crispy. I make casseroles for my stepmother who’s had two strokes because they are easier for her to eat by herself. Both of our in home care aides tried it and asked me for the recipe.

This was really good! Will be making it again! I only had a little bit of cheddar cheese so I threw some mozzarella on as well and it was delicious. I put the tots in the oven for 15 minutes while the sausage was cooking, this made them crispy once it baked for 35 minutes. Really good recipe it’s a fav!

I made this for my ladies bible study and it was a hit! I used 4 eggs, just like other reviewers suggested. I also added a little salt/pepper to my eggs mixture.

Very good casserole! I put 4 eggs in rather than 2 and at least 1/2 cup more cheese. It also took 65 minutes to cook and my oven is usually spot on with time.

ThIs was delicious and so flippin easy! I made it New Year’s morning (along with a French toast casserole) for a group of teenage boys and it was gone in about 2.4 seconds. They both went, but this was the one that went down first. The one thing I like to do is keep recipes as fresh as possible, so instead of buying a bag of shredded cheddar, I like to shred my own and it makes the world of difference…I just don’t care for the “sawdust” texture of bagged cheese. I wish I could tell you what leftovers were like, but there were none. This would be a GREAT recipe for a brunch or potluck.

Very good and tasty. I read a lot of the other reviews before making it and followed a few of their tips. I baked it at 375, added a little salt and pepper to it and I also made it with 4 eggs instead of 2. Turned out great. Even my finicky son liked it.

Pretty good. All age groups liked it. Quick and easy to put together.

This was very good. As other reviewers posted I upped the eggs to 4. I also added onions and mushrooms. It would’ve been very good even if I hadn’t added them. I was going to make this for breakfast but that didn’t work out so I made it for dinner. It was fairly quick to make and easy. Thanks for posting Nelda! Will make this again for sure.

This is a good basic recipe. Have fun with experimenting! The second time I made this, I adjusted the eggs to 5, and added an extra cup cheese. I also chose a milder sausage, but added broccoli and mushrooms to the meal. I had no onions but experimented with a small amounts of onion powder, salt and garlic. Not bad!

Used the 4 eggs and 2 1/2 cups of cheese and baked about 50 minutes.

I read a lot of the comments before making this. These are changes I made: 1. 4 eggs instead of 2. 2. Added a little dry mustard, and salt and pepper to the eggs. 3. I cooked the tator tots for 25 minutes before putting them in the casserole. 4. I put 2 cups of cheese in the casserole, and cooked it for 45 minutes. I then added more cheese on top, and cooked it for another 15 minutes. My family loved it, and I will be making this again.

Very good and easy to adapt to your tastes

Made with 2 extra eggs but no extra cheese. Added caramelized onion and red pepper, and would definitely do that again, maybe even reducing the amount of cheese. This seems like it would lend itself to a lot of variations … spinach, bacon, and pepper jack might be good!
Mark Brown
I made it and added special ingredients to give it a kick!

Made this today for a Christmas Brunch. Fabulous. Took others advice. Used 5 eggs, 3 cups cheddar cheese, Jimmy Dean Sage Sausage, and 1/2 lb thick sliced chopped bacon. Par cooked the tater tots as oven was pre-heating and seasoned them with onion powder, paprika, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Super simple and delicious. What is not to love

I followed other reviewers and added extra eggs and cheese so this review may not be fair to the original. It was not bad but not very good either. My grandkids wouldn’t eat it.
