Crescent rolls are filled with cream cheese and spicy, seasoned pork. To change things up, place thinly sliced pepperoni on the crescent roll’s bottom before the sausage mixture then sprinkle cheddar gratin on top of the sausage before rolling it up.

- 1 egg white, lightly beaten
- 1 tablespoon poppy seeds

This has become a family favorite. The spicy sausage is the secret.
Delicious and easy to make!
I made this just as it was directed. It turned out great! Thank you for sharing!
Just made this for dinner. Really good, but somewhat salty. I did add the pepperoni and a little sharp cheddar. Served with some pizza sauce. Will be making again!
This is the only recipe we have that uses hot breakfast sausage, but it’s going in the weekend breakfast rotation.
This was a tasty fun breakfast meal. It looks so fancy and would impress family or guests. I didn’t understand why you would cool it completely though and then cut and serve. Why would you want to eat it cool? I served mine whole and warm with some sausage gravy drizzled over the top. Yum!!!
Made exactly as directed, even added the pepperoni slices – my family loved it. Only wish I had doubled the recipe lol! Already have requests to make it again.
So easy. I used shredded cheddar instead of cream cheese but too dry. Stay with a softer cheese. Added chopped jalapeños and poblanos bc the hubby likes heat. Next time will add some chopped veggies. ??????
OMG GREAT!!!!!!
Very good and easy. Next time I will try a spicier sausage, I didn’t get one spicy enough, but that was my fault. One thing that’s great is when I went to buy the crescent rolls, I discovered Pillsbury now sells the crescent roll dough in a sheet. No need to pinch triangles together anymore. 🙂 Thanks for the recipe!
Good. Think next time I will cook it on parchment paper as the bottom tried to burn.
Very good and easy! I added a Greek blend of spices and I added Canadian bacon to the roll. Egg wash and poppyseed makes a nice presentation. I might try with some different cheeses just to mix it up.
I love the recipe. Very good !!!
This was delicious! I used hot sausage and like another review added extra pepper flakes, some onion powder and a little garlic powder. I used regular cream cheese. I didn’t use the poppy seeds but I think the egg white is crucial to give that lovely light crisp texture to the crescent rolls. I served it with scrambled eggs. Will be making this again next weekend. Thank you!
Great brunch item!
Yummy!
This was so easy and good. I added sharp cheddar cheese and sprinkled on cyanne pepper to give it a little punch. It was awesome.
This was easy and delicious! I halved this recipe and it still made a lot! I used a half lb. of Jimmy Dean plain ground sausage and added 1/4 tsp. each of crushed red pepper, black pepper and onion powder while cooking the sausage, before stirring in the half pkg. of cream cheese. Toughest part of this recipe was flipping the roll over to seam side down. Hubby loved it with his eggs for Sunday breakfast!
Awesome sausage roll with a couple of additions. I laid down a row of Hormel sliced pepperoni two ‘chips’ wide. Then a layer of sausage/cream cheese, followed by grated cheddar cheese on top. BTW, this is absolutely scrumptious if you use Jimmy Dean sausage.
I haven’t made these yet, but they sound really good. I have one question; can I freeze these. I’d like to make them for my husband and I, but I would have to freeze them as we can’t eat all 20 of them to quickly. Lol. I would sure like some input on this please.
I have been making these for years. I do it exactly by the recipe. Although a little messy to make, they are delicious.
