When we had a craving for hot Asian cuisine, we came up with this delectable Thai chicken meal. It contains strong flavors like sesame oil, fresh ginger, and peanut butter. Serving with rice.

Ingredients

  1. 1 ½ cups milk
  2. 1 ½ cups half-and-half
  3. 6 large eggs
  4. 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  5. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  6. 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  7. ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  8. 1 (1 pound) loaf French bread, cut into 1-inch slices
  9. 1 cup light brown sugar
  10. 1 cup coarsely chopped pecans
  11. ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  12. 2 tablespoons maple syrup

Instructions

  1. Mix milk, half-and-half, eggs, maple syrup, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg together in a large bowl until well combined.
  2. Layer bread slices in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Pour egg mixture over the bread slices. Cover and refrigerate, 8 hours to overnight.
  3. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Remove French toast from the refrigerator.
  4. Mix brown sugar, pecans, butter, and maple syrup together; spread topping evenly over the French toast.
  5. Bake, uncovered, in the preheated oven until puffed and golden brown, about 40 minutes.
