Classic smoothie with spinach. This strikes me as a really simple method to consume a lot of portions of fruit and vegetables.

Total Time: | 10 mins |
Servings: | 2 |
Yield: | 2 large smoothies |
Ingredients
- 1 cup yogurt
- 1 banana, broken into chunks
- ½ cup frozen blueberries
- 4 cups fresh spinach
- 1 tablespoon water, or as desired (Optional)
- 2 ice cubes, or as desired (Optional)
Instructions
- Layer yogurt, banana, and blueberries in a blender, respectively. Add as much spinach to blender that will fit; pour in water. Blend on high speed until smooth, adding the remaining spinach if needed. Add ice for a colder and thicker smoothie. Add more water for a thinner smoothie.
- I have tried frozen spinach – it adds an odd cooked taste – but is way cheaper and more convenient – so if you don’t notice odd tastes, go for it.
- Frozen fruits are just as good as fresh – and store longer. Frozen bananas are great! Additional fresh fruit can be added, if desired.

It’s pretty good. I added a whole banana and I didn’t have plain yogurt so I put in a cup of lime Greek yogurt instead! Tasty and I feel good about getting all that spinach in me!!!
This turns out great, tastes delicious… but I’m wondering how the creator arrived at the color in the picture, or the total calories…? A banana alone is 100 calories minimum, then the yogurt is a minimum of 100… add in the blueberries at 40 calories for 1/2 cup and you’re at twice what is stated. Just thought people should have the facts. Enjoy though, because they’re all healthy and delicious calories!
