Green Monster Smoothie

  4.6 – 109 reviews

The perfect post-workout snack to keep you full for hours! The flavors of the banana and peanut butter fully mask the taste of the spinach. My bananas and spinach are frozen, and I’ve already prepped everything for the week. Milks made from nuts or grains can be used instead, as can vanilla yogurt.

I was nervous about this recipe but when i tried it it was easy to make and delicious. People are talking trash about the peanut butter but that’s where all of the protein is. Would recommend but would add more protein and sweetness.

it was ok not the best would not add the peanut butter tho probably better without it

This is the best tasting green smoothie I’ve tried yet! And very simple and healthy. I used Greek yogurt, but also added a scoop of vanilla protein powder, as I use this shake as a post workout snack. Super healthy, simple, and tasty, love it.

Delicious smoothie! I used vanilla almond milk and did not add ice. I also added 1 scoop of vanilla whey protein powder and a tblsp of ground flaxseed. After I blended it, I realized I forgot to add the peanut butter (not something you think of with green smoothies). So I added the pb and also a little honey. With the pb added, that became the prominent flavor. This would be good for kids or anyone who doesn’t want the ‘green’ taste. One serving made a lot, so I put some in the fridge for later. Thanks for this great, healthy smoothie recipe!

it is really good but I think I will substitute vanilla or other flavored yogurt as the taste of the peanut butter was overpowering

Super good I didn’t have spinach so I used Kale a little stronger taste but good. I also didn’t have milk so I used powdered milk.?

Yummy! I made it exactly as written.

Excellent way to get the daily value of greens! I drink one every day. I measure the yogurt (~112 grams) and spinach (~60 grams) on a scale. I also increase the peanut butter a bit to a heaping tablespoon. I occasionally add 1-2 tablespoons of chia seeds for additional fiber. It creates 2 servings so I often half the recipe to make a single serving. I usually make it in the morning, drink half and store the rest in the fridge for lunch. It doesn’t taste quite as good after storing since the banana ice cubes melt, but it’s more convenient to make two servings at a time. Tastes great, I was surprised to see peanut butter in the recipe but it really does a lot to mask the spinach taste and the ingredients all go well together

Used 1 Tbls. smooth almond butter instead of peanut butter. Can’t taste spinach, love this smoothie, will continue making it.

I used Silk Almond Milk and Silk Soy Yogurt and it tasted great. This is a good way to get your veggies in for the day!

Didn’t have a banana, but it was still awesome. I added a little honey, also.

I made it as written and it was surprisingly good. I thought the peanut butter with the spinach would be weird but it was really good.

Used almond milk instead. Perfect!

My kids are tough to trick when it comes to vegetables, but this quick shake did the trick. #momwin

SO good!!! I opted out of the ice cubes because I use a little personal blender, but it’s perfect for a quick breakfast to take to work!

I used kale rather then spinach. Will definitely make again

So good! Can’t taste the spinach at all. My 5 yr old liked it too!

Made according to recipe, very nutritious and low in calories, but not as flavorful as I like my smoothies to be. I put it back in the blender and added some vanilla, cinnamon, dates, and avocado for a little more flavor and creaminess.

Delicious!!! I was surprise- even my 3 year old asked for more!!
