It’s very good! I used provolone cheese and sourdough bread because that’s what I had, and I added bacon. I decided (like others) that I don’t like the catsup on it – but I’ll be making it again without catsup in the future.
Well I like this recipe! When I used to make these I would make the eggs a little gooey in the center and I’d add bacon and sometimes tomato and lettuce. Making it the full meal deal! Yummy!
Basically I do it that way!!! Only I use Kraft Slices!!!
love the sweetness the ketchup and mayo brought to the sandwich. Excellent fast sandwich to make
I used mustard instead of ketchup. I didn’t have American cheese on hand so I used cheddar. Delicious!
Always my go-to comfort food. I sometimes dress it with Mayo and bacon. Other times, I prefer mustard, ketchup and jar cheese spread or mustard and cheese spread only. Don’t knock it until you’ve tried it!
Made it just as indicated and it was delicious put a splash of Sriracha a well. Perfect… I was in heaven!
This is really good. Quick and easy. My husband and son really enjoyed it. So did I!
I actually make this all the time. Just no ketchup. Not a big fan!! I’ve tried different cheeses & definitely the mayo. As a kid my older sister called this a cheg( cheese & egg!!)
Instead of ketchup use hot sauce
Love me an egg sandwich. I sub the ketchup with some Louisiana Hot Sauce. Just a little spice to start my day is always a plus.
I really enjoy fried egg sandwiches. I don’t use ketchup, though i do use a little bit of mayo. Make it with whole wheat toast or a toasted croissant. Papa Ole.
I have been making fried egg sandwiches like this for many years minus the ketchup. It’s my go to quick meal.
This recipe put a twist on my own version. Yummy! I used thinly sliced medium cheddar. As I made just one, I used a tiny smear of butter and as usually I do, added a TBSP of water and covered to finish the cooking with steam. It is ready in seconds. Delish!
Like the ketchup but not the may! You can also add bacon or ham to it as well as lettuce and tomato!
We really liked this and yes, I was skeptical about the Mayo/ketchup- but it added a nice touch! Made exactly as written but this could be easily switched up based on what you have on hand (ie; bacon, deli ham, various cheeses, etc). Could also be a quick dinner! Would and will make again! Thank you!
I have always loved a fried egg sandwich, but definitely like MUSTARD on it rather than ketchup!
Like better without mayo and ketchup
I grew up with egg sandwiches. This was delicious. I will admit though, I substituted the ketchup with slice tomato
skip the catsup, otherwise it is the way we have made them for years. Try on toast for a better, less sloppy sandwich.
Loved it and tasted so good on sourdough bread .
