Easy French Toast

A nice treat for brunch on Sunday! The toast is served with maple syrup and a small amount of confectioners’ sugar as a garnish. You can omit the vanilla for a special treat and use Amaretto instead.

quick easy and can easily be scaled for more

Too much milk and cinnamon. Will try again with 1/4 cup milk and half teaspoon cinnamon.

I am flabbergasted by some of the low reviews. It was simple, quick and tasted great. For those complaining of soggy results, use a hotter skillet/griddle. Thank you!

Made an acct just to warn others to never, NEVER, use this recipe!!!! The only reason it got one star is cause thats the lowest allowed to leave a review. The amount of milk and cinnamon in this recipe are about 4 times the amount needed. Not to mention the time suggested to soak in the mix before cooking. The “toast” gets so soggy it becomes completely unmanageable while cooking and what you end up with is what I can only describe as a scrambled egg version of what this recipe said it would make.

Love it

I fixed this for my husband and son. They loved it. The recipe I used said it was for 2 servings but I got more out of it then that. The bread I used I couldn’t let soak or it got too dark while I was cooking it, so I just dipped it. A thicker bread would need soaked but what I had was thin.

Toast came off the griddlen soggy! I followed the recipe to the letter.

No I didn’t make any difference changes and yes I would make it again

no, yes too soggy.

I’ve never made french toast with milk so I decided to try it. Just no. French toast does not need milk. It makes it too soft and milky tasting. Skip the milk next time.

IT was so delicious and easy

Too much milk

I actually laughed when I read the quantity of each ingredient. I was even surprised that sugar was not an ingredient. Because I was making a lot anyway, I just used the same milk amount and did 5 eggs instead of 1. I also decreased the cinnamon to 1 tsp. You really need to use a mixer to get the cinnamon blended well. I added 1 tbsp of organic sugar, and I omitted the salt. I also like to dip mine in a little flour to get them crispy in the skillet! Sprinkle with a little powdered sugar, and YUM! I am surprised this recipe is even posted on this site. I have never had a bad recipe yet. Reading the reviews is what I always do first. It allows me to “play” with the recipe.

Proportions are way off

Nice easy make. I used way less cinnamon, only one teaspoon, and this made breakfast a hit. I’ve never seen a toddler demolish ‘toast’ so fast! Served with crispy bacon.

Incredibly soggy- absolutely too much milk and too much cinnamon. Wanted to whip up something fast but I should have checked out the reviews before digging in 🙁

What 1tbsp. cinnamon-that’s why too much. 3/4 milk, same thing. this recipe supposed to be for 2 slices of bread, I used 2 pcs. and 1/2 of a mini baguette not to waste to mixture. It tasted ok though.

5 Stars because it was easy, just a few ingredients, hit the spot taste-wise and measurements worked as given in description.

Used 2 eggs and cut back on the quantity of milk slightly. Added a few presses of black pepper from grinder.

Made it for Father’s Day. Was tasty but changed the 20 sec on each side to dunking it in once and putting it on the pan. Also did 4 minutes each side before I actually took them off the pan and onto a plate.
