Yield: | 4 christmas tree waffles |
Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 3 tablespoons white sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ⅛ teaspoon salt
- ⅔ cup milk
- 2 tablespoons milk
- ⅓ cup vegetable oil
- 1 egg
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- 8 drops green food coloring, or as needed
Instructions
- Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a bowl; whisk to combine. Make a well in the center and add 2/3 cup plus 1 tablespoon milk, vegetable oil, egg, and vanilla extract. Whisk to combine just until blended.
- Add in just enough green food coloring to reach the green color you would like!
- Preheat a round waffle iron according to manufacturer’s instructions. Cook batter in the preheated waffle iron until waffle is just cooked through and the iron stops steaming, about 5 minutes. Don’t overcook; the longer it cooks, the browner the waffle will turn, and it will lose its green color.
- Separate the round waffles into wedges, and arrange three wedges overlapping each other on a plate like a Christmas tree.

Reviews
It was pretty good. It was fun to decorate and fun to make too. I’m a student and we needed to make something for the class, I made this and my whole class just loved it and it was good. Especially this was math homework and our teacher told us to find a recipe with at least 4 fractions measurements in it so I chose this. The recipe is really good and it helped me so much. Thank you for this recipe.
