Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons butter
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- ½ cup milk
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 teaspoon white sugar
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ lemon, juiced (Optional)
- 1 tablespoon confectioners’ sugar, or to taste (Optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
- Place butter into a 9-inch pie dish. Place in the preheating oven until butter is melted, 5 to 10 minutes.
- Whisk together flour, milk, eggs, white sugar, and salt in a bowl; pour mixture into hot butter in the dish.
- Bake in the preheated oven until the edges are light brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, 20 to 24 minutes.
- Sprinkle lemon juice over pancake and dust with confectioners’ sugar; serve warm.

Very easy steps and yummy recipe.
This was absolutely delicious. I added a “bit” of vanilla, which gave it a very nice vanilla taste. We used maple syrup on our pancakes. Cinnamon sugar sprinkled on it after coming out of the oven would be good. I can see a fresh fruit (strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, etc) filling in the center. Next time I will be making this as a Yorkshire pudding.

Oh, Oh, Oh delicious! Didn’t use lemon and put in a dash of vanilla. 2 TB of butter is plenty and I heated the pan but put butter in microwave and put it in the hot pan just before pouring in the batter. Used maple syrup, blueberries and strawberries. Subbing salt for sugar would be a great yorkshire pudding!
I made it but for some reason it doesn’t rise to the side…but instead rises up the middle. The kids liked it nonetheless.
Made with gluten-free flour mix. Served with apples simmered in maple syrup. Delicious.
This is a family favorite. I skip the salt and add a splash of vanilla extract. The best part of this recipe is that it comes together super quick and looks impressive coming out of the oven. Lemon juice and powdered sugar on top finishes this dish off perfectly. Blueberries too!

I did make this instead of traditional pancakes. My husband & I LOVED it. Our 4 year old not so much. It was too much of a departure from his beloved sand dollar pancakes. I’m looking forward to making this as a dessert with the suggested fruit & whipped cream toppings.

Easy to make and better than even the specialty pancakes at The Original House of Pancakes. This is a budget-friendly recipe that can be made regularly. My picky 12 year old son loves this more than griddle pancakes.
So good and so easy! I added a tsp of baking powder and a tsp of cinnamon per other reviews. I used the amount of sugar called for in the recipe and I’m glad I did. I think upping it to 1 Tbsp per previous reviews would’ve been way too sweet since I added other sugars later. I did use a cast iron skillet. Once the butter was melted, I added apples and brown sugar then the batter. It cooked up nicely. After turning it out, I added fresh apples and cinnamon sugar. The fresh apples gave it a good crunchy texture.

Easy and delicious. I used a cast iron pan to start. Melted the butter and then placed thinly sliced green apples in the hot butter. I had to use coconut milk because that’s all I use. I also added 1tsp vanilla and a 1/2 tsp of baking powder.
