I made exactly as directed. It turned out gummy and flavorless. It is suitable for people who are experiencing intestinal problems, however, as it is easy to digest. For flavor you could do as others have suggested (add cinnamon or other flavoring) or cover with jam, syrup, or even frosting. I would make this again, but ONLY for medical reasons.

I would add fresh, diced apple to this recipe. Was very tasty and a good breakfast snack or just a snack for me.

These were tasteless and very mushy. Not sure what I did wrong but I followed the recipe exactly, the only change I made was add cinnamon.

It is a good start but needs more taste. I added cinnamon sugar, chopped walnuts and chocolate chips. I am going to try this again and try to figure out the amounts needed. This time I used 1/4 cup for the items, and 1/2 tsp cinnamon. I may add cottage cheese for more protein.

Pretty good with cinnamon applesauce.

Not real crazy about these. kids didn’t like them either.

Better if you wait until they’re cool before dumping it out to cut. Mine fell apart all over. But I will make again and add some orange juice and cinnamon

A great starter recipe to add on to – I would never have thought of making these but glad I did. In the end, I used 3 c. spiced applesauce, 2 c. oats, 1 c. raisins, 1 c. walnuts, 1 c. chocolate chips and 1/2 c. super seed mix (flax, pumpkin etc.). Will make again as a quick breakfast snack.

I tried really hard to like these little squares. I prepared them with good quality oatmeal, unsweetened applesauce, 1/4 cup Splenda, apple pie cinnamon, a finely chopped apple, a bit of vanilla. Baked them in a 9 x9 pan, about the right size. Definitely a healthy snack but hoping that the second batch is an improvement. If so, I’ll update the review. An updated recipe would help, perhaps.

I made it but shouldn’t have. There were no directions on what size the baking dish should be or how thick or thin the mixture should be spread. I’m disappointed darn it!!

I’ve made this recipe several times now, and it’s so fun to add to. Recently I tried grated apple with 1 cup of apple sauce, and a quarter cup of slivered almonds, and pumpkin pie spice. I do add about 1/3 of a cup of Splenda for taste. I’m also going to try pureed canned butternut squash, as soon as I find some! It could also be good with a grated carrot! I like it chewy, but it could be baked longer for people who prefer crispy. I recommend a pizza cutter after it cools, to cut it up.

Texture is great, but lacking flavour for an adult palette. Will try again with a little cinnamon/nutmeg or raisins.

It needs a little sugar. But other then that it was good.

My family enjoyed my version of this recipe. I added a teaspoon of vanilla extract and a dash of cinnamon, plus a little stevia based on other reviews. And I added a peeled, chopped apple. I think you could easily substitute other fruits into this basic recipe. It is a great starting point!

I had apple sauce left over from my yearly canning. I made a double batch and added a bit of cinnamon, cut the squares after 10 minutes and put it back in the oven for another 20 minutes. Easy to make an healthy. I will make thesecagain and I think I’ll add diced cranberries next time and maybe a bit f vanilla.

QUITE YUMMY. I tried as per recipe and topped half with a little cinnamon sugar.. those were better.. it may have been the submitteR used sweetened applesauce.. I cut them an then re-baked for 10 minutes more .. gave a firmer texture.
