So easy, so moist and delicious. I also add a 1/4 tsp of pumpkin pie spice and 1/4 cup of golden raisins.
Basically a very good recipe. I made the following changes. This was for 2 loaves: 3/8 CUP BUTTER, 1 CUP CHOPPED APPLES, 4 TEASPOONS OF CINNAMON, 1-1/4 CUPS RAW SUGAR, used WHOLE WHEAT WHITE FLOUR, 1 CUP OATMEAL. I was going for a less fat, less sugar, whole grain feel. I think it worked very well. Sweet enough and the chopped apples are great! Very yummy!
This bread turned out great! I made a few adjustments based on the notes of others. I used 1 cup white sugar and 1 cup brown sugar. All whole wheat flower. I added almond extract and sliced almonds instead of vanilla and walnuts. I threw in a bit of coconut, 1/2 cup of oats, and a few shakes of poppy seeds. It’s delicious!
It was a little dry around the edges. But otherwise good.
So Good! You really taste the oatmeal and the cinnamon and the apple doesn’t get lost at all. I didn’t have chunky applesauce so I grated one apple and mixed with 1/2 c regular sauce and I only kept back 1/2 packet of oatmeal for the topping which I mixed with a bit of butter and sugar.
I love this recipe easy. Made for work. They loved it without butter!!! It is a great recipe never found one like it!
I found this bread to be very dense and quite bland. if I made it again I would add additional spices
This stuff is delicious! Very easy to make and tastes amazing; the only downside is that I have to fight my roommates off of it. Perfect for an indulgent weekend breakfast and even better than pancakes or waffles.
I left out the oatmeal because I wanted a smoother bread, but it was very good. I might recommend baking it for just a few minutes less, though. I did mine for the whole hour and it was a little too crispy around the edges. I’ll probably do 50-55 minutes next time.
Made it with my homemade cinnamon chunky applesauce so I omitted adding cinnamon. Crazy good made it twice in one weekend. My household loves it!!
Love this bread! Have made this several times and turns out great each time. Sometimes I will substitute strawberry apple sauce and it seems to give it a bigger flavor.
A family favorite breakfast bread ! So moist and the flavor is delightful !
It was just OK, I ate it but I wouldn’t make again.
Absolutely delicious and makes the kitchen smell so nice when it’s baking! I used about 3/4 a cup of sugar instead of the full cup, and added one peeled and thinly chopped Apple. This was really yummy; I highly recommend!
I used unsweetened quick oats and unsweetened applesauce vs. sweetened/oatmeal packets. I will add another 1/4 cup sugar. (a bit bland) I also added chopped pumkin seeds and 1 cup craisins. I will also add another 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon next time. Tried to make this a bit more healthy!
I will make it again. My two girls liked
Amazing!!! I’ve made it several times for different occasions and it has always gone over well.
It came out perfectly! I would only change the amount of oatmeal that is placed on top to 1/2 the packet of oatmeal. (Other reviewers have said this as well.)
I’ve made this for my kids& as a snack for the ladies at my church. There was no left overs for the next day . I used brown sugar instead of white. I also cut up an apple for little xtra chunk. Yummy yummy!!
My husband, daughter and I really liked this recipe with the following changes: 1) I doubled it the second time I made it so we could freeze the extras 2) I used canola oil and “country crock” to reduce the dairy for my dairy-sensitive husband 2) added almond milk to liquids to increase moisture 3) used half whole wheat flour 4) reduced sugar by about 1/4 – could have used less – used part BROWN SUGAR! 5) Used already cooked oatmeal with apples that I had made for breakfast earlier in the week. I make extra on purpose so I have it for this bread. 6) I put some of the batter in muffin tins for easy storage and eating later. Bake. Eat. YUM!!
Snowed in for the day and wanted to make a bread with ingredients I had on hand and this is what I found. YUMMY! Followed the directions exactly as written and it came out perfect. Will definitely be making this again.
