Quick and Easy Yorkshire Pudding

4.4 – 406 reviews  • Popovers and Yorkshire Pudding Recipes

When serving a typical British roast beef supper, Yorkshire pudding is a necessary side dish. By adding the batter to sizzling hot fat, Yorkshire puddings can be made without a hitch. The puddings retain their tenderness within while puffing up and becoming crispy on the surface.

Makes beautiful puffy Yorkshire’s. My go to recipe.
Troy Smith
As others have said the temp here is too low. Wasted my fat on this. Needs to be at least 400 to start maybe 450. 375 is not going to do it

It had been a while since I last made Yorkshires.. so I looked up a recipe. After reading this one, it all came back to me. You will want to make a few adjustments to this recipe to make good Yorkshires. First, preheat oven to 395 and heat pan almost to the point of smoking not just sizzling. When you drop your batter in it should immediately sizzle. Second, Batter recipe should be 2 eggs, 1 cup milk, 1 cup Flour and 1/4 tsp salt. After about 8 minutes reduce oven heat to 350 for another 20 minutes or so… That will get you great Yorkshires 🙂

I took the eggs out 2 hours to bring to room temperature. I used 3/4 cup flour. And 1/2 tsp salt. Turned out perfect

Wow. It’s been in the oven at 350 for over 30 minutes and it still hasn’t puffed out . I think this recipe is flawed …

easy and yummy! first time I made Yorkshire pudding and I chose the right recipe. Dip them in anything or spread with jam.

Pan initially needs a much higher temp before pouring in batter. Three eggs is too many. One will suffice and add salt. The dining room I used to work in added a bit of fresh chopped rosemary. Not too much as it’s very powerful her.

The oven needs to be hotter than 375/350 in order to make yorkshire pudding. It wasn’t done at all after the time stated in directions. Did not look like yorkshire pudding either.

The recipe is too simple and lacks flavour.

I have no idea how this recipe has as many stars as it does. It is a deeply flawed recipe… wrong temp, wrong cook time.. bland recipe with no seasoning whatsoever. Don’t waste your time with this one… find a different one.

Easy to make and my family loves it!

This was quick and easy to make and turned out beautiful! It was bland, however the seasoning and juices from the pot roast made up for the lack of flavors. I will bake it again, this has the consistency of an egg pudding a little doughy. Side note: my mom added a little grape jelly to hers.

This recipe is great. But I’ve found it better to add a little salt, a little extra skim milk, & start oven at least at 400 and then lower. Also a pan of water at the bottom of the oven to steam helps.

I liked this; but it was kind of bland. I agree that the temp needs to be higher, so next time I’ll increase the temperature. I also like the idea of adding vanilla as another user suggested.

The recipe itself is fine, but 375 degrees down to 350 is way too low to achieve the desired puffiness of a yorkshire pudding. I baked 12 according to these directions and they barely rose. I baked the remaining batter at 425 and they turned out MUCH better. I would say, bake them at 425 minimum. In a regular size muffin tin it took about 15 minutes.

This recipe was definitely quick & easy! I followed it “as is”, turned out great! I will use this recipe again!

I added in vanilla and salt, sprayed the pan with oil, and put the temp for 400 5 mins then did 375 for 25. The end result came out great and tasted delicious.

FANTASTIC RECIPE WORKS EVERYTIME

Amazing! So simple to make and delicious! Thank you for sharing!

Not sure what went wrong but these came out more like muffins rather than yorkshire pudding…. but taste was not bad.

didnt get the chance to take a picture bwfore they where all eaten, but all in all they turned out golden and fluffy. I also used water instead of milk, they turned out 50 times better then if i was to use milk. I love how easy and simple the ingredients are. You dont need a million dollars to make a rich mans dinner
