I think it would taste better if there was actual corn in it! But I would grind it up and mix it in with the batter.☺️
it is SO GOOD!!!
This was fantastic! I used a 7×10 pan and the middle was still a bit doughy, so I’ll bake it longer next time.
This is a great recipe. I did add a little extra sugar since we like our cornbread sweet, I’m not sure it was needed though. I made the batter earlier in the day and waited to baked it just in time for dinner. This will be my go-to corn bread recipe from now on!
Awesome sweet cornbread
I made the mistake of using this recipe awhile back to make some cornbread for dinner…It was so good, it has now become my job to make the cornbread to go with our chili.. As we don’t drink milk, I had to substitute it with half and half.. This recipe will be repeated many times as colder weather is upon us.
Love this! So easy and so sorry yummy!
omg good. Thank you
This was easy and delicious! The sour cream added nice texture and moisture. The only thing I did differently was that the only sour cream I had was low fat and already had some ranch dip mixed into it. That just added to the taste, making it a bit more savory! Highly recommend!
Simple recipe. My wife, son, and I really enjoyed it.
Perfect, delicious. I added some green chilis and cheddar cheese for that extra flavour but it was moist and delicious.
It’s a great recipe and it turns out really well when you actually follow the instructions. The first time I made it, I mixed things in the wrong order. It turned out fine but I decided to wait until I did it properly before writing a review. This time I followed the instructions and it turned out very nicely.
This is a delicious recipe! I wouldn’t change a thing!
Outstanding cornbread
I made a couple of the suggested edits as well (reduced milk to 1 cup, switched flour to 1 cup, and cornmeal to 1 1/2 cups) and otherwise followed recipe as written and this is pretty much my very favorite cornbread recipe I’ve ever made! It has that perfect crispy exterior, is so soft and tender in the center, just lightly sweet, and holds together well! I LOVED THIS RECIPE!!
I followed the recipe the first time I made this and it was extremely sweet, dry, and bland. This second time, I changed the following: 1.5 c cornmeal, 1 c. flour, 1/8 c. honey, 1/8 c. brown sugar, baked 20 mins. After my changes, this came out with a light texture and hint of sweetness.
Made this delicious cornbread last night. But beware, the recipe in the video varies greatly from the written version. The video calls for the addition of sour cream and baking soda and the reduction of a lot of key ingredients (butter, sugar and flour). I realized it half-way through the video (after adding sour cream) then switched to the written instructions. Result…best corn bread ever!
I’ve been looking for a recipe that is similar to my mom’s sweet cornbread. This was good, but wasn’t what I was expecting. Like another reviewer stated, it didn’t have that classic cornbread texture, and it wasn’t as sweet as I was expecting.
LOOK OUT Marie Callendars!!! This corn bread is not only awesome, but only takes a few minutes to whip it up! Thank you for sharing.
When I tasted the sweetness of the batter I thought it was amazing. It occurred to me that dicing up a peach in the batter would make the recipe perfect! I was right!!!
I did the adjustments suggested upped the sugar a bit and did more corn meal and less flour and milk… I’m not sure its moist enough. If I did it again I might bring back the milk or add more butter…
