(What Bengalis refer to as Chocchori Aloo) A hot Indian dish made with spicy crab, sliced red onion, and sliced potatoes. The ideal accompaniment is hot rice.

Prep Time: 15 mins
Cook Time: 25 mins
Total Time: 40 mins
Servings: 24
Yield: 2 dozen muffins

Ingredients

  1. ½ cup white sugar
  2. 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  3. 3 (10 ounce) cans refrigerated biscuit dough, separated and cut into quarters
  4. ¾ cup brown sugar
  5. ½ cup margarine

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease muffin cups or line with paper liners.
  2. Mix white sugar and cinnamon together in a gallon-size resealable bag; add biscuits and toss to coat. Press coated biscuits into muffin cups, about 2/3 full.
  3. Heat brown sugar and margarine together in a saucepan over medium-low heat until melted, 3 to 5 minutes; pour over each biscuit muffin.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven until dough is cooked through, about 20 minutes.
  5. I usually melt the butter in a measuring cup in the microwave and then stir in the brown sugar. The heat of the butter melts the brown sugar. You can also add raisins and/or chopped nuts.

Love it.. I do add chopped pecans..

It was good. I would recommend cooking it two minutes longer because it didn’t cook all the way.

I halved the recipe and used one big can of butter flavored biscuits, cut into 6ths so that each muffin got 4 pieces in a pan of 12. I also added some sliced almonds on top after the caramel. They turned out great, but a little dry. I’m thinking 20 min was a little long in the oven. Next batch, I’ll check at 15.

Fantastic! Did not need 20 minutes in the oven. Drizzled powdered sugar, milk, & vanilla glaze on top after baking.

Stoopid-easy and delicious, absolutely perfect! My kids love to make these with their friends during sleepovers.

This recipe gets a five star because it was so easy and buttery and delicious! The butter and brown sugar makes the incredible caramel that goes so nicely over the muffin sized breads. Husband requested it for dinner as well as the snack that we had. Great recipe!

These muffins are a huge hit! The only thing I do different is use an apple slicer to cut the biscuits into about 9 or 10 smaller pieces. Otherwise I follow as is and love it!

I made these exactly how the recipe said for Christmas morning breakfast, they were perfect! The only thing I did differently was I rolled the quarters into balls and then pieced them together in the muffin cups. I will be making these again!

I didn’t change a thing and they were great!! I was thinking about adding chopped pecans to it next time.
