I did all self rising flour. White sugar cause it’s what I had. Didn’t add salt or baking powder. Added powdered garlic. Used Budweiser. Absolutely delicious!

Easy to make I added a little garlic powder and a splash more of beer it was a big hit. Also before I poured the butter over I took a knife and made a line in the middle.

Best beer bread recipe! I exclude the onion powder and add an extra splash of beer to give it more moisture. It is perfect!

Thank you so much for this recipe. I changed it up a bit as suggested by many of the reviewers. All I put into the recipe was 3 cups of self rising flour, 1/3 cup of brown sugar, 1/4 cup of butter and Bud light with hops, barley, water and rice. I wanted sweet, not savory and it came out delicious. I used a springform pan and the butter leaked out and made a mess in my oven. Thank goodness for self cleaning ovens.

So good. Thank you for the recipe. Made it per the recipe with the exception of using 3 cups of self rising flour and eliminating the baking soda. This is my new favorite beer bread. Can’t wait to make a grilled cheese with a good provolone.

OMG!! so easy and delicious!! Gave it as gifts with a can of beer!. Everyone loved it and ate it in one sitting!!

My whole house smells like turkey! I used an Italian spice blend from all recipes and that is the overall smell. It tastes great too. I made 2 loaves to take to a chili dinner. I think they will be a great compliment.

I made this as listed. It was a huge hit at a “soup potluck” at work. Everyone wanted the recipe. Easy to make as well!

A flavour packed loaf with a divine crunchy crust! I didn’t have onion powder so I used cream of chicken soup (YUM) and used mixed herbs instead of Italian seasoning.

I have been making this recipe since 2012. Made it for a dinner party last night, and people continually ask me for the recipe. I usually add a little minced garlic to it, for the garlicy bread flavor–especially with lasagna. It’s fantastic as is or with minor modification in seasonings!

Very tasty

This time I did not make changes and yes I will make this again as Christmas gifts.

Delicious! I did not add the seasoning – so good!

One of my favorite quick bread recipes to make. It’s always a hit at bake sales too. I make it as written. I love the flexibility of this recipe though. Sometimes I add 1/2 tsp of garlic powder in addition to the herbs or I’ll swap Italian herbs for Old Bay. I also sprinkle TJ’s “Everything But the Bagel” on top for a little something extra. So tasty!!

Delicious. I make self-rising flour out of AP and whole wheat flour following the directions on King Arthur Flour website. I used half whole wheat flour for the 2 1/2 cups of self rising flour and the other half AP flour. I used Kona Longboard beer. So good!

Very good and very easy. I accidentally poured the butter into the batter the first time I made it and it was so good. The next time I made it as instructed and the bread was very dry. I’ll keep mixing the melted butter into the batter. I also omit the Italian seasoning but I’ve made it with and really didn’t notice a difference.
Amy Thompson
This was great, I did just omit the sugar altogether and it turned out delicious.

So good! We will definitely have this again. Didn’t have self rising flour so I used all purpose flours with the backing soda and salt ratios others commented on

I am a private chef and I made this one evening to rave reviews. Just one note, it is very hard to slice, the top is very crumbly and crusty, hard to slice neatly. Next time I will make it as muffins.
Autumn Ho
Excellent,no changes needed! Mixed my own self rising flour as I only buy all purpose flour.
