This is a great recipe for us when pizza dough is at the end of date to use.Easily works and tastes as good as a recipe cannot name.Rhymes with burro.

I love these! To make them easier for my two-year old to handle, I cut the dough into strips and then into 1-1/2” pieces so they were bite size. They’re also great with a little icing. How can you go wrong with deep fried sugar-topped bread dipped into more sugar?? 🙂

There are too good! When I first going to make these, I had my doubts, however they were better than I expected them to be! Also, they look like professional pastries when they really take about ten minutes to make. 😀

Haven’t tried this, but it is a version of what my family (Sicilian) called pasta frit. Bsically, tearing off pieces of the dough, stretching it with your fingers, and dropping in hot oil until puffed and golden, then drainng on paper towels and sprinkling with powdered sugar. It is a great treat, and my kids always loved it. It’s great to make if you have leftover bread and/or pizza dough – or save a little dough when making pizzas so you can make dessert with the extra. Best when eaten immediately while still crisp and tender.

A great treat for game night or just for a bite of something sweet. I used a heat setting of 5 to heat the oil on top of the stove. anything higher or lower didn’t seem to cook them like they should be. 2 cans of pizza dough made plenty. Might half the recipe next time!!!

I havn’t tried this recipe yet, but it sounds like an easy version of the Mexican treat “sopapillas.” Has anyone ever tried to make this using the frozen pie dough sold in the freezer section at the supermarket? Not the frozen pie shells, but the actual frozen dough that you thaw out and unfold.

Even my 16 year old had fun making this for our game night. Everyone loves them.
