Air Fryer Donut Sticks

  4.5 – 14 reviews

You can make homemade cinnamon and sugar doughnut sticks using an air fryer and crescent croissant dough. Serve with your preferred frosting, fruit jam, syrup, honey, melted chocolate, or caramel.

Prep Time: 20 mins
Cook Time: 15 mins
Total Time: 35 mins
Servings: 8
Yield: 48 sticks

Ingredients

  1. 1 (8 ounce) package refrigerated crescent roll dough
  2. ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
  3. ½ cup white sugar
  4. 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  5. ½ cup any flavor fruit jam

Instructions

  1. Unroll crescent roll dough and press into an 8×12-inch rectangle. Cut in half lengthwise with a pizza cutter, then cut each piece crosswise into 1/2-inch-wide strips.
  2. Working in batches, dip strips in melted butter and place in a single layer in the air fryer basket without overcrowding.
  3. Cook in the air fryer at 380 degrees F (195 degrees C) until well browned, 4 to 5 minutes per batch.
  4. While the doughnut sticks are cooking, stir sugar and cinnamon together in a pie plate or shallow bowl.
  5. Remove doughnut sticks from the air fryer and roll in cinnamon-sugar mixture. Serve with jam.
  6. To make doughnut bites, use a 16.3-ounce package of refrigerated large biscuits. Cut each biscuit into quarters, dip in butter, and cook as directed for the doughnut sticks. Makes 32 doughnut bites.

Would not make again. Followed the recipe completely, other than twisting the dough as recommended in other reviews. Very small sticks, bland, just disappointing all around.

I love cinnamon sugar. These make a great, fun breakfast! Can’t wait to make them for my Grands! I tried twisting the first half but not the second half. Not much difference since my air fryer tends to blow around lightweight foods. I had to pull them apart from each other (air fryer, not recipe issue). I drizzled the sticks with a confectioner’s sugar icing before serving. I think children would love these.

These were just ok. I twisted the sticks because I thought they would be on the flat side if I didn’t. Thanks for the recipe but I doubt I will be making these again.

These were surprisingly good. I used salted butter and for ease used McCormick cinnamon & sugar blend. The can comes with 2 rectangles and I cut each into 1/2 strips. For a more interesting texture I twisted them, which I suggest. They do get crispy from the butter. Mine cooked in about 3 1/2 minutes and one can made 4 batches in my small air fryer. I would try these again for a party appetizer.

They reminded me of when my mom made pies and sprinkled cinnamon and sugar on the leftover strips of pie crust. Not quite as sweet, though, with the bitter taste of the dough coming through. I will try it again for a quick snack on a Saturday morning.

The recipe was so easy and tasty. I made it with my 4 year old and he had a blast getting messy. I tried to cook 2 trays at the same time which was a bad idea. I also cut some of the pieces smaller to see what would happen, and they cooked exactly the same.

Recipe worked as directed. As far as taste I found it a little lacking, I think because of the fact that it isn’t a sweet dough which is what most desert recipes call for. Nothing special, but overall this recipe works great for a quick breakfast sweet treat!

YUM YUM! These are so good and easy. I think next time I will make some apple butter or some cinnamon roll icing to dip in. Definitely will be making these often.

I flipped mine over with a minute left and both sides turned out delicious!

What a fun recipe! This turned out really good and is one I would definitely make again. The rich buttery flavor comes through and the cinnamon did not overpower. It reminded me of that famous cereal. I had more than half of the sugar/cinnamon left over so I’d reduce that next time. For now, it just gives me an excuse to go get another tube of crescent roll dough and make another batch!
