Ingredients
- Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
- One 16-ounce bag frozen flame-grilled beef and onion patties, thawed (I like Ballpark)
- 1 cup pizza sauce
- 1/2 cup chicken stock
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- Pinch of nutmeg
- 1 pound fresh pappardelle
- Parmesan, for serving
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
- Using your hands or a knife, break or cut the beef patties into pea-size pieces.
- In a large straight-sided skillet, combine the pizza sauce, chicken stock, heavy cream, nutmeg and beef over medium-high heat. Season with just a bit of salt and a few grinds of black pepper. Bring to a simmer and cook until heated through, 2 to 3 minutes.
- Meanwhile, cook the pasta in the boiling water according to the package directions. Drain, add to the sauce and grate some Parmesan over the top. Stir together until the cheese melts, then serve.

After reading reviews and having time I used ground beef and pork. I doubled the recipe and used marinara as that’s what I had on hand. I added a few squirts of tomato paste to make up for not using pizza sauce also added a bit Italian seasoning as I tasted. It was a very good sauce. Hubby gave a thumbs up to make again. The fresh pappardelle was key in my opinion. So good!
I have made this several times, and I always follow Sunny’s original recipe because my friends and family request this over and over.
This was quick and easy, I did add a a blend of carrots/celery and onions
I made this last night and I used hamburger and pork from the meat dept. Only took about 6-10 minutes to brown the meat than drain. OMG. Let me just say that I will NEVER make bolognese the long way again! I didn’t miss the carrots, celery, etc. like the long process. I doubled the recipe and I am soooo glad! This was so super YUMMY!! Added it to my wheelhouse recipes. Thank You Sunny!!!
I liked the flavor of the sauce, but using the pre-cooked beef patties (exact brand you did) made the bolognese rubbery, should have just used fresh ground beef or beef/sausage mixture, which would have taken only a few extra minutes more.
Quick, easy, and delicious! My husband and son loved it! Thank you, Sunny!
I didn’t have the exact ingredients, had just fresh hamburger and Italian sausage so used that instead. Also all I had was dry pasta. It turned out really good. Glad there is enough for leftovers. I will definitely make this again.
